'Tis The Season ~ SweetSassyDiva

'Tis the season to start making some Holiday cards and ornaments!!  This is Lori from ScrappinMyStressAway with a window card and ornament set.
I started out with paper from this Deja Views Fair Isle Christmas paper pad I bought at Michaels last year.
I made a card with this frame from Going Places.  I put two of them on my Gypsy mat at 4.25 inches.  I hid the inner cut of the frame on the left.  I welded them together to make the card base.

I added this tree from Sophie cartridge at 4.25 inches.  I copied a second tree to weld into the center of the frame.  I added the layer for the tree also at 4.25 inches.

When I make a project, I usually lay out the project on the first Layer, then copy the pieces onto separate layers to cut them out.  I also usually make several of the same cards at a time.  On Layer 1, I deleted the additional pieces (after I copied and moved them) and I put a second card base.
I cut them out of red paper (it is white on the back side).
On Layer 3, I put six trees.  I wanted these cut out in brown so the trunk would be brown.
I put the top tree layer on Layer 2.
I cut them out of green cardstock.  After seeing how much of the tree was cut away, I decided to add a middle layer.  I did not want that much brown showing through.
I copied the tree layer onto a new Layer (#5) and used Hide Contour to hide the inner cuts.  I found some green patterned paper from the same paper pad and cut them out.
I scored the cards with my Martha Stewart Score Board.
I layered the tree pieces together and was still not loving the tree.
I added some stickles and inked the edges.  I wrapped the trunk with twine and adhered the tree to the front of the card.
I added a sentiment to the inside of the card from Close to My Heart.
I adhered the extra two trees together with some twine at the top for a loop to make an ornament.
Here is the ornament.
I put the card and ornament together as a set ~ aren't they cute?

Candy Bar Wrappers (Frosted Designs)

The challenge this week over at Frosted Designs is Food and Candy.  It took this challenge literally!!!
I started with some Godiva chocolate!!  I wrapped the candy with Halloween scrapbook paper.

Then I got out my Martha Stewart spiderweb punch and made a border.
This is my favorite border punch!!!
I found these cute little stickers at Michaels to add just the right touch.
And here are my sweet treats!  These are perfect for a teacher gift!  Have a great weekend!!!!

Have a Wicked Halloween!!! Bug Bytes "Black" Projects

Welcome to the BugBytes Blog Hop!  I LOVE Halloween!!!  This card was so much fun to make!!  You should have arrived from JEN's blog .  Jen is the beginning!!  Please go to Pam's BLOG for the Linky Party and the lineup in case you get lost!!

I tried out a new technique for my project today!
Lydia (one of my fellow designers at Frosted Designs) did a tutorial recently about stamping on masking tape and I found the perfect project to try it on!!
I put 5 strips of masking tape on the back side of my Fiskars mat.  I used my Wicked Close to my Heart stamps (the hat and broom) with black ink and stamped the tape.  I put the tape strips on the card and trimmed the extra off.  I took purple and green ink and sponged it on the front of the card.

I cut out these witch shoes from Happy Hauntings at 3 inches.  I cut them out in black cardstock and again in orange cardstock.
I cut of the top of the black shoes so you could see the orange socks.
I used gold stickles to create stripes on my socks.  I touched one of the socks (I usually touch wet stickles at least once per project) but I knew I was going to cover it up with the cauldron.

I used the cauldron from Create A Critter cut at 5 inches out of black cardstock.
I really struggled with how to place the boots!  They did not fit straight due to the curly toes!  I finally decided to have them toe to toe.
I adhered the cauldron to the bottom of my card with my ATG gun.  I turned the card over and trimmed the extra off.
All trimmed up!

I am not a card maker most of the time and I made a rookie mistake while stamping my sentiment.  So, I just grabbed a lime green scrap and trimmed it and re-stamped!
All better my little pretties!!
I added some purple gems to the shoes and some skinny purple ribbon to the rim of the cauldron and POOF! my card is complete!!!

Thanks so much for flying by!!

Your next stop in the hop is Jeannie!

Trick or Treat Gifts (Sweet Sassy Diva)

I am the guest designer today at SweetSassyDiva with some Trick or Treat Gifts.  I made these for my son's teacher.
I started with my newest Halloween Paper pad from K&Company.  I found this at Michaels.
I put two cones on my Gypsy at 5.5 inches and cut them out with my 2-sided Halloween paper.  Silly me, I cut out the first set upside down!  I re-cut them.

To assemble, I folded the tabs and tucked them in the slot.  I punched a hold on either side of the cone and tied ribbon inside each side.
I took this spider (also from K&Company) and stickled him up with some purple.

I cut out these 3D flowers for a previous project HERE and had one left over.  I got these flowers from Close to My Heart Art Philosophy.

I cut out these flowers in purple cardstock.

I rolled them up with my Quilling tool and glued them to the flower base with Scotch liquid glue.

I had a dark purple flower left over which worked out perfectly.
I put some liquid glue and Martha Stewart purple glitter on the edges of the flower and adhered it to the front of the cone with some glue dots.  I adhered the spider to the top of the flower.
For my candy bar wrapper, I wrapped three different papers around the candy bar and taped them down.  I tied a purple ribbon around the candy bar.  I cut out a flower from Close to My Heart Art Philosophy out of 2-sided paper and used black acrylic paint and stickles on the edges.
Here is a close up.  I think it looks kind of creepy in a fun way!
Here are my yummy treats!!
