Got Game Layout - Let's Scrap

This week starts another sketch challenge at Let's Scrap!  We just finished baseball season for Tanner.  The season starts in January with indoor practices.  We start games at the end of March, beginning of April.  State tournament is right around July 4th.  If your team is lucky, they qualify and go to Nationals.  We just got back from Nationals two weeks ago and I have hundreds of pictures to scrap!!
This is our sketch.  I knew that doilies and birdies would not go well with my dirty baseball boy - so I added baseball elements from my Cameo instead.
I cut out the pieces of the baseball with flames.  The red piece needed tiny drops of glue and I found the Beacon Zip Dry scrapbook glue was perfect.  I just put tiny drops around the edge of the baseball and laces.  I squeezed a bit more on the flames and assembled my pieces together.
I inked my ball so it looked dirty and matched the color scheme of the Creative Memory papers I used.  I put the flaming baseball on the page with Tanner pitching!
I inked the baseball cut with vintage photo ink and used Beacon Zip Dry glue to adhere it to the page.
I used papers from the Creative Memories Baseball kit.  The kit included transparent stickers.  I added Strike 'Em Out! above the picture of Tanner throwing the pitch.
I inked the glove cut and tucked it behind the two photos on the right page.  The glove is significant because Tanner is one of our catchers.
I just love the round All Star Baseball sticker - I overlapped both pictures with it.
I just love the look of these papers and elements together!!

I found some thick chipboard squares on clearance at Hobby Lobby.  I painted them with chalkboard paint.  I found some school phrases in the Silhouette store and cut them out in white vinyl.  I painted the edges of each square in white paint.  I think these look like little chalk boards.

These will make fun teacher gifts!!

Throwback Thursday Challenge (Let's Scrap)

This week at Let's Scrap, our challenge is to recreate a Throwback Thursday picture and scrap it!
I used a paper pack I purchased from Creative Memories a while back.  I just love the coordinating papers and embellishments!!
I used two of the photo mats to create my red striped background paper.  I trimmed a bit of the brown photo mat to put under the photo on the left.

In the original photo, my friend took this picture.  He kept lifting his right leg at the last minute - it was so cute we took it anyway.  This is one of my favorite pictures of Tanner at this age because it really shows his personality!!!

The photo on the right was taken just after he finished his 8U baseball season.  They won state and placed 3rd at Nationals.  He has his new bat and his home run baseball in the picture with him!
I cut out the title "growing up Baseball" using my Cameo.  Baseball is an image I found in the Silhouette store.  Growing up is from a font on my computer.  Tanner has literally grown up watching and playing baseball!!

Thanks for stopping by today and consider joining Let's Scrap if you want to get motivated to get those memories scrapped!!!

Finally 21! Wine Glass

My friend and daycare helper Kylie turns 21 tomorrow.  She is going out tonight at midnight for her "Magic Birthday Hour" so I made her a fun wine glass.

I started with a 20 oz wine glass from Dollar Tree and my Cameo.  I cut out 21 in hot pink vinyl, finally in black vinyl and a crown in gold vinyl.  I added the vinyl to the glass and some Rhinestone Resin Sticker Sheets from The Buckle Boutique to the crown.

Polka dots finished the look.

The vinyl and rhinestones stay on as long as you hand wash the glass.
Here is another wine glass I used Rhinestone Stickers on and hand washed several times.
Happy Birthday Kylie!!
The Rhinestone Resin Sticker Sheets are currently on sale - check them out HERE!  The sheets can be cut with scissors, the Cricut Machine and die cutters (like Sizzix)!  The possibilities are endless!!

Tanner - Frosted Design Challenge Layout

This week's Challenge at Frosted Designs is to Stitch and use Flowers on your project.

I just love this photo of Tanner when he was almost 3.  We were on vacation in the Lake of the Ozarks and found a cute little tree.  Tanner grabbed on the limbs and I snapped this photo!  He was so cute and sweet that day!
I used some molding paste and a Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil to add some texture on my paper.  I love this Glitz Design paper - it is green on the bottom and blue on the top.
I used White Linen Dylusions Ink on a tag (from the Simply Sweet Kit).  I stitched the bottom of the tag with the wire thread.  I also used some flower and butterfly rub-ons on the tag.  Both the wire thread and rub-ons are from the Enchanted Kit.
I cut out the title Tanner on my cameo with a font from my computer.  I added this giant yellow flower for a soft touch.  I journaled on the tag and put it all together!

Be sure to join us HERE to enter the Stitch and Flower Challenge.  You can find the supplies I used in the Frosted Designs Online Store.

State Champs Layout

Today starts a new challenge at Let's Scrap!  I love scrapping current photos so I could not resist these photos of Tanner and his team after they won state two weeks ago!!

These boys are 8 years old and were bumped up to Majors right before state.  Their record is 38 - 3 this year and today is check in day for their National Tournament!!  I am so proud of these boys and their coaches!!!

Our current sketch is a card sketch, but I made it into a layout:
I found baseball paper for my background and put crossed bats on top instead of the "patterned" paper from the sketch.  Instead of the spray of sequins, I added some gold trophies.
I pop-dotted the trophies to give them dimension.
I added a bit of ribbon that looked similar to the ribbon on the medals the kids wore.  The black washi tape matches their jerseys and the white dots represent the baseballs.
I added State Champs as my title.  I love the bottom photo so much I had it printed on a canvas!

Here is a photo of my husband and son together:
If you are trying to scrap your moments, consider joining us at Let's Scrap!  We have weekly sketch challenges (with great prizes) and other challenges and tutorials to help keep you inspired!!!  PS - we are having our DT Call now too!!!

Baseball Door Decor

Today I am featured at my friend Sheila's BLOG!!

Our 8U Papillion Storm Chaser select baseball team had an amazing season.  Our record was 36 - 3 and we won state last weekend.  We qualified for nationals later this month and I made some door decorations for each team member and coach.
Here is the team photo with Kyle (from SouthPark) our good luck mascot.
Here is a photo of Tanner with the team plaque and game ball.

I used my cameo to design our door decor.

I started with a shape of home plate and sized it just under 12" wide.  I want to put this in Tanner's scrap book later.

Our team partners with the Minor League Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals) and we use their logo.  I traced the Storm Chaser logo (which is only ok if I don't sell it) and cut it out.  I cut out the black and white layers in cardstock and the red laces in vinyl.

I found this image of a baseball player in Pinterest and traced it.  I cut it out of black cardstock.  I used Freshman font for the boy's name (or nickname) and number.  I cut them out in blue cardstock.
I lined up and sized each name and number on my cameo mat to fit the home plate shape.  I saved the negative cuts to use as a template in order to get the letters on just perfect!!
Here is Tanner's sign.

I wanted something a little different for the coaches so I cut out a 12" wide baseball cap.
Because our hats are all blue I just cut out one layer.  I cut out Coach Mike in white vinyl and transferred it to the bill.

Had I known I was going to make the coaches signs different from the rest, I may have made the logo smaller.  I like it anyway!!

Kathleen - Frosted Designs Layout

Today I am featured at Frosted Designs!!

This is a picture of my mom around age 3.  Her mom gave her a home perm and then decided she did not like it - so she cut it off.  My mother hated this picture because of her hair.  This photo hung in the hallway of my grandparents home until they passed away 13 years ago.  My mom passed away in 1989 at the age of 46 and would probably not be thrilled that I put her photo on such gorgeous paper!!!
I used everything from the Capture The Moments Kit except the heart frame, white flowers - both sprayed with gold Heidi Swap mist (Love is in the Air) and the metal butterflies (Beauty of Nature).
Here is a close up of the flowers and flair on the corner of the photo.

These photos are just gorgeous and perfect for your heritage photos!!!  Keep those stories alive!!!
