Building the Perfect Snowman

This weeks Fabulous Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs is to use ribbon in your project.  Our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe, and I used some of their digital stamps in  my layout.

I wanted to make a layout of my son building a snowman (photo and event yet to take place though) so I found this image from A Child's Year.  I cut out the shadow in black and the image in white.  I added a piece of yarn for the scarf and some ribbon with snowflakes on it for the tag.
I cut out my title on the gypsy and moved it into the pattern I wanted.  I used the negative piece to place my letters on my page.  I paperclipped the negative to the bottom of my layout and ran the letters through my Xyron.

I just love this trick as I usually can't do anything in a straight line, let alone a fancy one!

Here is my first attempt, but I just didn't love it.  I added some more stickles, some gems and more ribbon.

Here is a close up of the digital stamp I used.  I also cut out two snowflake images with my circle punch and put them on the photo mat.

And here it is all put together.  As soon as it snows enough to build a snowman, I will take a picture to add to it!

  3. I am so crazy about this layout! I got married on Dec. 7, 96. I didn't do the traditional wedding march, instead I walked to Walking in a Winter Wonderland. I am so going to lift this idea! Love it!!!!
