Disney Pixar Blog Hop #2

Welcome to the Second Disney Pixar Blog Hop DAY 2!!!  We have a whole new group of projects and prizes for you today!!  You should have arrived from Ellen's blog, but if you did not, please go HERE to start at the beginning!

In case you get lost along the way, here is the Hop Order!
Lori  {HERE}
Melissa

For the first Disney Pixar blog hop, I made a Buzz and Woody layout.  I am so glad I did those two first!  Making Mickey and Minnie was so much easier because there were not as many pieces and colors!!  I am going to show you how I used my Gypsy to make the layers of Mickey.

I am making an 8x8 album, so the first thing I did was to create a file with a 8x8 square on it.  I saved it and then opened it as a template.

When I am making a project with lots of layers, I find it easier to open up a 12x24 mat.  This can be done from the main menu (silver circle button).

Here I am selecting 12x24.

I opened up Disney/Mickey and Friends and picked my Mickey.  I selected all of the layers (including using the shift key).

They are all in my que together.

When I put them on my mat, they are all blue.  This means they are grouped together ~ and what you do to one, you do to all.

I tapped on the 1.00 height button and sized my group to 3.5 inches.

The entire group is sized together.  All of the little pieces are the right proportion for my 3.5" Mickey.

Then I "ungroup" the pieces and moved them all to the left half of the 12x24 mat.

I change the mat size back to 12x12.

Then I separate the layers by the color of paper I want to use.  At this point I am not really concerned about the 8x8 square, I used that to determine the size of my Mickey.

This is a great way to use up some scraps!

I decided I did not need one of the shadow pieces, so I deleted it with the X button.

Here is my papers all stuck down.

And my pieces after they are cut out.

I used my Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive to put Mickey together.

His face looked a little tan to me soo...

I tried to use an ink pad to tone it down, but got some blemish markes between his eyes.  I found a lighter paper and re-cut Mickey's face.

I glued on the  new face right on top of the old one (too bad that doesn't work for people!!).

Mickey will be on a page where my son will (hopefully) get a photo and an autograph.  I added a border of anchors from Life Is A Beach.

I also added a life preserver from Life Is A Beach.

I cut out Minnie the same way as Mickey, only different red paper.  This will be one of my 2-page layouts for the album.

Here is my title page to the album.

I had to add a Pirate Mickey page, but I used stickers!  I did cut the titles from Blackletter.

We will need some pages for when we are at the beaches!!

This is such a different book from the previous 3 autograph albums I have completed.  I am still researching things (and characters) we will see and do!

And now on to the Blog Candy!!!

In order to qualify for this bag of goodies,#1 please be or become a follower and #2 leave me a comment with a favorite Disney Memory.

One of my favorite Disney memories is when Kramer was 9 and Tyler was 4.  Tyler was super excited to get character autographs, Kramer was not.  While waiting for Tyler to get some autographs, Cruella deVille came up to Kramer and said "What's a-matter little boy....you too good to come visit me?" really loud and in character.  He was embarassed!

Thank you for stopping by!!  Your next stop in the hop is the talented Christina.

  1. Your cruise album is going to be super!

My favorite Disney memory is from our 2010 trip. We were in Animal Kingdom when it started raining hard. We were coming back from Rafiki's Planet Watch at the time. The drains outside of the train station couldn't handle all the rain. We ended up taking our shoes off and wading through about 9 inches of water! Of course, we didn't get pics of that. :(

  2. Hi Lori ... My family and I were just talking last night about our favorite Disney memories! One that came up repeatedly was how my daughter Emily screamed, ranted, raved that she would not, could not go on TOWER OF TERROR. We essentially dragged her on there, she loved it and then asked to get on over and over, loving it. NOW she says she'll "NEVER" go on it again, LOL.

  11. I'm a new follower (just found you through this blog hop) and my favorite Disney memory happened on my first trip to WDW when I was 25. Having always been the biggest Disney fan, my boyfriend (now husband) took me to WDW in 2000. There were SO many things I wanted to do, but calling my parents from Cinderella's Castle was top on my list. They had always wanted to take me there and wanted to share the moment with me. So I did call them from the castle, but I was so choked up I couldn't talk! I had dreamed of this moment for such a long time. It was something I'll never forget. (FYI: They still tease me about it to this day!)
THanks for the chance to win!

  13. I have only been to Disney twice and they both hold many memories. First time in 2004 for my daughters 4th birthday, it was a first for all 3 of us in my family and I will always cherish it.
2nd time in Jaunuary 2005 when I did the Disney Marathon for a great cause. I loved going through the parks and seeing all the characters supporting us.
Thanks for showing step how to use the gypsy

My favourite Disney memory was riding the Aeorsmith roller coaster with my middle guy - and both of us singing Walk this Way at the top of our lungs through the tunnels. (That was the song blaring at the time.)

  23. I had to just tell you about your page before I gave my favorite Disney memory! So my favorite Disney memory is from our first trip to Magic Kingdom. My daughter Ashely was in love with Cinderella. We went to the Castle for lunch and when Ashley saw Cinderella she became so excited and ran to her to hug her:) Cinderella embraced her in a hug. Ashley smiled from ear to ear the rest of the day.

  24. Love your pages and your album! Your comment about a new face is so true!! My favorite Disney moment was simply magical. I told all my friends in college that I was pretty sure my boyfriend was going to propose over Spring Break. We went to Disneyland, ate at the Blue Bayou and I just knew it was coming. Nothing happened! Then we got all cranky and tired and I was disappointed. The park closed at midnight. At about 11:45we were pretty much alone over by the lake and I had given up hope when he did it! He had a speech planned, had carried the ring around all day IN HIS POCKET, and it truly was magical! We had one of the cast members (who was cleaning up trash) take our picture and even though it's grainy as all heck, it's still a favorite! We'll celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in 1 month!

I especially love the beach ones.

I've never been to Disney myself, though I've seen all the home videos from when my aunt and uncle brought their kids. I asked my cousins to go to the haunted mansion for me, since I doubt I'll ever be able to go myself and when they got there it was closed! LOL! Irony! We all had a laugh about it though.

Lovely blog candy! Count me in the giveaway please?

  34. Thanks for sharing this! It is very helpful to see how you made your cuts. I love the layout(and Mickey and Minne too.) My favorite Disney Memory really wasn't at a park but was on the way to Disney with my 2 sisters and their families (17 in all). One of my sisters had to travel to my house before we flew out the next day and her an her family were spending the night before the flight. We decided to take the bus to the airport (at 3 a.m.) It was time for bed, but none of us could sleep we were too excited and ended up singing Disney songs and waking up the neighborhood on our way to the park and ride. We all had a blast at Disneyworld too! Our first entire family vacation together!

Your character memory reminds me of my DS was the only child in line who wanted to meet the Genie without Jasmine. He got to jump ahead so he could have his chance without Jasmine. Of course, Jasmine arrived behind him hugging him. It was so funny to watch. Ds was a good sport and I ended up with tons of great pictures.

  85. Very cute! Love all your LOs for your album.

I've only been to Disney once but I think my favorite memory was of my FIL holding my niece (about 10mo) up so she could see her sister and cousin ride the Dumbo ride. I got a candid photo of the two of them while he was talking to her that was just precious.

Okay...you guys are killing me with these questions!!!!! Do you have any idea how MANY wonderful Disney memories I have??!!!? I've been going since the Magic Kingdom at WDW opened when I was just shy of 2 years old!!! I have so many great memories of being there with my parents and my grandparents and then my new husband and now my kids.... but I would have to say the very first time we took Parker...he was just a little under 18 months and when we first walked out of the tunnel underneath the Main Street Railroad....he started dancing in the middle of the street! He had been groomed with Disney music and the thought never even crossed my mind that he would recognize it! Instant waterworks in my eyes....I'm telling ya! Pheww.....just teared up thinking about it again. Oh how I love Disney!

  90. Well my favorite memory of walt disney world was the fireworks. they put on a great show. My middle son was almost three and so entranced by the fireworks. We watched them every night. Also we had recently went to a fireworks show at home. (July 4th) so when we got home he asked me if we could please go watch some fireworks. He thought you could watch fireworks everyday after being at Walt Disney World. Great album.

  91. Love your story about Cruella with your son! Too funny! Your layouts area wonderful... I really like cutting and assembling the characters on Mickey and Friends. They seem easier to me than most of the others. I don't really have any Disney memories as I have never been to any of the parks and have seem most of the movies at home. My son was born between the classics and the modern Pixar films so we didn't see too many of them at the theater. I still love all things Disney though and can remember watching Mickey Mouse Club when I was a child... that was a verrry long time ago!

We had arranged for him to stay with a relative, Down the road I missed him so much I couldn't stop crying. Needless to say he went with us and was a perfect baby there and we all had fun. Leoda

  107. Aaah, love what you've created so far - just need the pictures :)

My favorite Disney memory is when I was 8 years old living in Mexico. We lived in a border town so we could get reception from the US. My favorite show on Sunday was The Wonderfuld World of Disney. One Sunday afternoon - when my show was on - my mother decided we needed to go visit my aunt. My mom didn't drive so we took a bus. I cried all the way to my aunt's house and I didn't care who saw me. This embarrased my mom so much, but Disney was more important than my aunt any time!!

    Happy cutting!

  108. Love your LO. My favorite Disney Memory is when I went to Fl to Disney and I went into the 3D version of It's a Bug's Life. That was so cute and I was so fascinated with it I saw it 3 times. It may have been just because of the whole experience of being there or maybe it was the 3D, maybe a combo of both...or of course maybe it was because it was just a darn cute movie but I will never forget it.

To share the things we have loved about Disney with them and see the wonder in their eyes. Dumbo was such a fun ride for them. I love the idea of fixing Mickey's face. It gives it so much demension I may consider that idea with my future cuts bobos or not. jlsateplusdotnet
