Birthday Cards

First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there!!  We have three birthdays in our family close to Mother's Day, my brother (he turns 40 this year), my sister-in-law and me.  I was motivated by Sheila's card challenge at ShesASassyLady Gypsy Made Simple challenge yesterday to create these two cards.

I used Mickey Font for both cards.  I took he shadow of 40 and hid the inside cuts on the numbers.  I kerned and welded the two numbers together, then copied and pasted and flipped a second set of numbers.  I welded the two sets of 40 together to create the card and cut it out in black.  I cut out a regular set of numbers and cut them out in a gray and white paper with a circular pattern.

I folded the card in half.  I used black paper that was white on the back so I could write on the inside of the card.  I added some black stickle dots on the numbers after I assembled the card.

For my SIL Wind, I made a "W" card.  Windy is not a fussy, girly girl so I stuck with a pretty paper and blue card.  I added a sheer ribbon instead of a little flower as it suits her better.

Here is the card on my Gypsy.

And here is the card pieces cut out.  I folded the card in half.  I tied the ribbon to the "W" before I glued it to the card.

I inked the paper with black ink and added the stickle dots.

Here is the card for Windy.
