Today I actually made one project for 3 different challenges ~ yay me!! The first is Gypsy Made Simple at ShesASassyLady. This week's challenge is to make any card, but make two at the same time. Well, I doubled that since my cards are little (and for a good cause). I also am entering this in Scrapping Chicks Challenge Blog. This month the projects are suns and an inspiring quote. My inside will say "Sending a little sunshine your way" which is not exactly a quote, but goes with my next challenge. Erica's Craft Room is challenging crafters to make cards for the children at St. Judes. You can find out more about this HERE!
I also used 2 carts for the first time (one of my personal goals is to use each cart at least once this year)!!
Phew, got that out of the way...now let's get to work! I found a sun that I liked on my Gypsy using the search feature. This sun is from Simply Charmed. The sun is sized to 2.14h. The square window card is from Fun Finds sized to 6.58w x 3.24h.
I was able to fit four cards on my mat.
I arranged the layers into sections of my mat.
I cut them out ~ easy peasy!!
I ran the pieces through my Xyron. It is a little glue boogery, but quick when dealing with the little edges of the sun and sunglasses. I put the sun together from the bottom layer to the sunglasses, added some yellow stickles and a little twine.
Here are my sunshine cards! I am hoping to send a little sunshine to a young cancer patient!!
Those little suns are so cute. Love the sunnies. The choice of patterned paper for the background is perfect too. You are well on your way to achieving your 2011 goals.
