Apple Card (Sweet Sassy Diva)

Hi!  Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway with my Apple project.  My inspiration came from this month's issue of Creating Keepsakes Magazine.  One of the layouts had a bunch of squares with apple punches out of the middle of them.  I don't have an apple punch, but I do have a Gypsy!!!

This paper came from a K&Co. stack of paper.  I really liked the block look.  The blocks were all 2" squares, so I lined up six rows of six apples on my mat.  I used the apples from Plantin Schoolbook at 1 inch.

After I took the paper off I saw these apples and my project shifted.  I decided to make a card instead of a layout so I could use these apples!

Here is how the paper looked.  I wish I would have made the apples a little bigger but I still like it!

I used my corner rounded on the blocks.

I put a little apple in the inside!

I put a scrap of red behind two of the squares and tied some twine around the smaller apples.  I am going to give this card to my son's kindergarten teacher!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

  2. Lovin the card..I didn't realize until you showed the picture of the rounded corners that the center is a strip of the cutout apples! It just looked like a strip of paper..You just can't get the full effect in these pics can you? Great job and way to switch in the middle of a project to something different than what you originally thought of..I wish I had that creative process! :)
