All About the 70's Blog Hop (Memories in Tyme)

Welcome to Day 1 of the All About the 70's Blog Hop!  I was so excited for this hop because I grew up in the 70's!

If you found me first, please go to Lynda's BLOG to begin the hop.

For my project today I created a 2 page layout.

I started with one piece of paper that I found at Michaels and I cut it into two pieces.  I originally was going to mount the two pieces onto these light blue cardstock papers, but then I noticed the ipod....

I trimmed off the ipod and skull (not a big skull fan) so it all worked out.

I used my Gypsy to create and size my title.  I used the font from Feeling Groovy sized to 1.42 inches.

I grabbed the heart from Cricut Stencil and sized it to 4.52 inches.  I copied another heart and sized it to 2.45 inches.  I used Hide Contour to hide the inside cuts.  Then I grabbed 70s from Cindy Lou and placed them inside the heart (sized at 1 inch).  I did NOT weld, just grouped them so the numbers would cut out.
I cut the images out of red cardstock.
I wanted to fill in the "V" so I cut two more by opening a new Layer and copying one on it.  I hid all of the other cuts then copied it again.  I cut out the "V"s in orange and yellow.

I adhered the orange one inside the heart, and trimmed (by hand ~ almost forgot how) about 1/8" off and adhered it on top of the orange one.

I did not want too much color as the patterned paper is pretty busy!

Here is a close up of the heart!
Here is the first page ~ Aren't I cute?  It is hard to see, but in the center photo if you zoom in you can see that I knocked out one of my front teeth!

I stitched along the bottom of the papers using my We Are Memory Keepers Sew Easy piercing tool and yellow DMC floss.  I always think of my jeans with the rainbow stitched up one leg and down the other when I think of my childhood!!

I took the 70s from the inside of the small heart and adhered them onto this page.  I outlined them in black with my fine point sharpie so they did not get lost in the background.

I added some pictures from summer time along with my dad's boat.  I have a ton of great lake memories from the 70s!

I had a great childhood, so I really liked the 70's.  What I did not really like was the clothing styles and the music!!

Your next stop in the hop is JANET!
