This was not the project I planned on making. I created an awesome card on my Gypsy only to discover that my Gypsy will no longer cut out welded items. As sad as I was about this, I was initially blaming my Cricut Expression which costs twice as much to replace. Long story short, I am getting a new Gypsy as an early Birthday Present.
I had to start over and create a new card, and I decided to dust of my Cricut Imagine and create something.
I cut out these scalloped rectangles with this paper design from the Hopscotch cartridge. I cut them out at 4x5.
I scored and folded the top 1/4 inch of one of the rectangles. I adhered them together with the colored sides out.
I thought this cupcake and sentiment from Gypsy Wandering would look good on my card, but I did not like it.....
I used this butterfly from Art Philosophy from my original card idea. I took an extra scalloped oval from yesterday's banner and used the back side as a mat for the butterfly. I inked the edges blue.
I folded the wings up and added some blue crystals to the body.
I tied some 3 Girl Jam ribbon on the side of my card and it is complete!
Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop in the hop is MISSIE!
Great card! Love how the butterfly pop ups. Already a follower.

ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! I hate it when my Gypsy acts up, I have over 130 carts on her and don't want to have to deal with PC over it. Oh well, a new one might work better! Thanks for the inspiration! lclass003atgmaildotcom

This is really cute. Sometimes cards don't end up like we originally planned (like using that cupcake and Happy Birthday) but end up turning out wonderful in the end.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your Gypsy. I've become so dependant on mine, I don't know what I would do if it stopped working correctly! Did you try to do an update on yours? Mine was doing all kinds of stupid things, and the update took forever, but fixed it!!
