Spring Garden Layout

This week at Frosted Designs, our Fabulous Friday challenge is Weather.  The weather in Nebraska was so warm early spring this year that all of my bulbs bloomed and looked beautiful BEFORE Easter. I host Easter and was worried that the tulips would be blown away by then, and they were.  I am so glad that I took these photos!!

We moved around so much that I would plant my garden and not be able to enjoy it every year.  This is our 4th year here and I have really enjoyed this garden!!
Here is a little sketch I drew.

I cut out several flower pieces, lady bugs and grass from Walk in my Garden.

I cut the flowers out in the same colors as the ones in my garden.

I took the title Spring Garden from April Showers.

One of my other challenges is to use more than one piece of patterned paper in a project!  I used this butterfly paper from Michaels and some scrap green paper with a leaf pattern on it to mat my photos.  I colored and cut the background shape from my Cricut Imagine using Vintage Papers.

I inked my grass and stems with green ink.

I layered the flowers together and overlapped the grass.  At the time I created this project, my Gypsy was still not able to cut welded pieces.  Normally I would weld the grass pieces together but I actually like this look even better!!

I put a sun in the top corner.  I have several metal ladybugs in my garden so of course I had to add some!!

I added the all important date and my initials.
I hope you join us this week with a Weather project of your own at Frosted Designs!!

  4. Hi, Lori!

I've never commented on your blog, but I wanted to say I just love the page with the Spring Garden Theme! I love using my Cricut as well to do enhance my scrapbook pages! I also use it for card-making, too.

I had a question. Is the ad on your page for Above Rubies Studio an Adsense ad or is it an ad you wrote for another company. I am a beginning affiliate marketer and I have been trying to find out whether Blogger allows for such ads, but I haven't found answers to my question in their guide. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

I also have a blog in it's infancy that I would love for you to check out and give me some ideas. It is marciasscrapbookingblog.blogspot.com.

Thanks for your wonderful blog and for your help.
