Mother's Day Card - Memories in Tyme Blog Hop

Welcome to the Memories in Tyme blog hops - where you will find some seriously talented people who love to share their ideas with you! Our hop today is anything relating to Mothers Day- doesn’t matter if it is a layout, card, mini album, or decorating item, if it’s about mom…it’ll be here!!! We all have one, and some of us even have 2 - or mom’s we wish we ours, or our friends’ mom’s who turn into ours… I have been lucky to have three amazing women in my life, all who have taught me one thing or another about being a mom! Let’s celebrate MOM’s here!!!

Now, if you just happened upon my blog, then please go back to the beginning which is at Lynda’s blog (http://memoriesintyme.blogspot.com/). Besides, the beginning is always the best anyway!!!

Here is a complete list just in case you get lost (or sidetracked like me) along the way!!

Let’s get started with the ideas -

I started with my Imagine and Kate's Kitchen. I made a Mother's Day card for my Step-Mom. She collects antique spice containers and I really love this "Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice" image. I cut it out at 3 inches. The ice cream treats are for another project.

I inked the edges and pop dotted the image onto some blue cardstock.  I wrapped some twine around the cardstock and adhered it to the card I cut out of cardstock.
This is a very simple card for a very simple (and special) person in my life.  My parents were married for just shy of 25 years.  My dad and Karen got married 5 years after my mom died.  They spent 15 years together before my dad passed away.  It was a great comfort to me for my dad to have Karen in his life and I am grateful to have her for a step mom (even though I hate the way that sounds ~ she is NOT evil!!).  I was so happy to see this image on Kate's Kitchen as it is perfect for Karen!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today ~ I hope we have inspired you!!

  1. YAY!! 1st comment so I can let you know how VERY special she will feel getting this EXCLUSIVE card with the sweet little containers. JUST right for such a special moment. Sorry about your Mom, I know that it hurts. My Mom died 8 years ago and it's still painful.
Happy Mother's Day and it's nice to share this hop with YOU!
