Frosted Designs Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to the Frosted Designs Fall Blog Hop!!

This is a Challenge Blog Hop - Now what does that mean??

We have an overall Theme of "Fall" and the RECIPE can be found along the way.  Each Designer is using one main "ingredient" on their project.  There are 12 stops on the hop, which makes 12 Ingredients.  You choose 6 of the 12 ingredients to create your "Fall" project and link it up to the Frosted Designs BLOG.

Easy peasy!!

We have some awesome sponsors for our hop:

Here is the complete blog line up in case you get lost along the way (or found me first).

I started with this bag topper from CCR Bag Toppers - Summer.  I sized it to 11.60 width and 7.85 height.  You could easily cut it to 8 inches without a Gypsy.

I opened another layer in my Gypsy and sized Give Thanks from Artiste (Close to My Heart) to 3.59 inches.  This could easily be sized to 3.5 inches without a Gypsy.

I wanted to make some 3D Mums.  I found these flowers on Art Philosophy (Close to My Heart) and sized them to 3.25 inches and 4 inches.

I cut them out of maroon and orange cardstock.

I took my McGill tweezers and grabbed the small end of the flower.  I rolled the flower around the tweezers.

It is helpful to guide the flower with your fingers to keep it at the tip of the tweezers.

When the flower is all rolled up, gently remove the tweezers.  Let the flower unroll just a bit.

This is what the flower should look like before you glue it together.

Liquid glue works the best.  I use my Scotch glue because the bottom is a dauber (the top is a fine point tip) and it is easy to get the right amount of glue on the center.

The flower is glued together and just needs to sit a couple of minutes.

Here comes the fun part!!!  Every flower needs a little sparkle!!  I have Fire Brick and Spiced Marmalade stickles that match my papers.

I put a blob of Fired Brick stickles on the top of the maroon mum.

I used my fingertip to spread the stickles around.  You could also use a paintbrush.

I let my stickled flowers dry overnight.

Here is how I store my stickles - inspired by Pinterest!  It is best to store them upside down to prevent clogging - who knew??

You can see the flowers sparkle (the picture does not do it justice)!  I used glue dots to adhere the mums to the paper.

Here is my one hint ~ I am using 4 of the total ingredients you will find in the hop today!

I have a little blog candy today.  I appreciate your comments and you do not need to be a follower of mine to win.  I just need a way to contact you.  My secret blog candy is my "Ingredient" ~ Stickles or Glitter!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Your next stop is the Marvelous Melissa!

  34. Such lovely flowers! I think the home made ones look at least as pretty as those you buy, and when you make them yourself, it's easier to get the perfect choice of colors too! Thanks for the tip on how to store the glitter tubes!
