Welcome to the Much Anticipated Disney/Pixar Blog Hop!!! You should have arrived from Tami's blog. If not, please go to Shawn's BLOG to start at the beginning so you don't miss anything!!!
For those of you who don't know me, I am a HUGE Disney fan!! We have been to Disney 4 times in the last 3 years and we are planning a Disney Cruise in October 2011!
I made a Toy Story layout from our September 2009 trip since Tanner dressed up as Buzz Lightyear for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
I do have some Blog Candy detailed the end of my post! Just in case you get lost along the way, here is the order of the hop!
Lori YOU ARE HERE!
I wanted to make a laser cut look layout. I have three different versions of this basic layout saved on my Gypsy. I have a tutorial HERE that shows how I made them.
I took one of my layouts and used it to create my 2-page layout. For the first page, I welded the blackout shadow of Woody (3.62w x 6.54h) in the big open space on the left. I welded he blackout shadow of "Toy Story" (4.42w x 3.15h) at the top.
For the right side, I flipped the page side to side and welded Buzz into to large open space (5.29w x 6.77h). I cut out both pages in black. If I were to do this layout again, I would not have cut them out in black because the bottom layer of the characters is black.
I copied the layers for "Toy Story" onto another layer. I sized them to match the blackout shadow, then ungrouped them and separated by colors.
I did the same for Woody.
Nine different colors for Woody!!! I cut them out and then glued them on the black base with my Martha Stewart glue pen.
I did use a black pen to color some of the highlights.
I put the pieces for Buzz on a 12 x 24 mat to size them then separate them. I had enough pieces that I needed two 12 x 12 mats, so I grouped, copied and pasted half of them onto another layer.
Here is one page.
Cut out.
Here is the other page.
Cut out. Notice all the tape ~ I did not want to take a chance at having to recut all my scraps and then recut the cuts!! Eleven colors for Buzz! This was a lot of work, but they look great!
After I put Buzz together, I used Glossy Accents on his helmet.
I outline the space first, then fill it in.
When it dries it is very shiny and is dimensional.
The layout had too much white space for me, so I added a couple of Army men.
I have been much better about journaling (yay for me) so I decided it would be fun to journal on the planet.
Here is a close up of "Toy Story".
Here is the two-page layout. I got the background paper from WDW. Tanner is dressed up as Buzz Lightyear in the pictures.
And here is my blog candy! All you have to do to qualify is be or become a follower and leave me a comment on your favorite Disney Character or Disney memory!!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Your next stop on the hop is LENA! Enjoy!!
Very , very cute! I bought this cart to do a Halloween LO of my grandkids. But haven't donr it yet! Thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteI love this layout so much Lena. My boys are Toy Story mad at the moment and I'll have to come back here when it comes time to scrapping their photos. Love what you have done with the glossy for Buzz' helmet. My favourite memory is a future one. My son lost his Woody doll somewhere in the house two weeks ago. I have turned it upside down. I can not wait to find it and see the joy on Drew's little face.

I just got this Toy Story cartridge. My grandson is anxious for me to use it with him. Your page layout is just fantastic. I liked how you did Buzz's helmet too. I got a gypsy for Christmas but haven't learned how to use it yet. Your page has been helpful. My favorite Disney memory is when my husband and I were chaperons for 84 teenagers, with our daughter's band. It was a challenge, but we had free time too to spend in the park. We were so exhausted we took 2 trips around the park on the train while napping. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this layout and how to do it on the Gypsy!! My fondest memory was of our trip when my husband returned from Iraq and my daughter was just 6! She had a blast, and so did we!!

Living north of Orlando, I was there for the building of Disney World. Several friends and family members worked there and we all watched it 'going up'. The changes over the years have been phenomenal. Our first visits, you got in free and bought the 'tickets'. Of course, the best rides required the "E" ticket. I actually still have some of those tickets. Great memories! We still go there very often. Last week for a baseball game!
ReplyDeleteVery cute LO! I really like this.
ReplyDeleteI am a mickey fan, what can I say... I am a bit of a traditional... LOL!!!!

My fav Disney memory was when my boys were 4 & 2 and they met their childhood heros Buzz & Woody. The doors opened @ Al's toy barn and my boys just stood there and watched them. Their eyes were twinkling. It was a true magical moment! Priceless!

Awesome layout! And love the tip about adding Glossy Accents to Buzz's helmet. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Disney memory was the first time we took our kids to Disneyland. There's nothing like seeing Disney through their eyes and excitement. But the one particular memory that stands out was when our 3 year old daughter spotted Pooh bear for the first time. We had just gotten off the train near Toon Town/Fantasyland and Pooh was walking over to his spot. Our daughter ran as fast as her little legs would go and she kept yelling "Wait Pooh, wait!". She thought he was leaving but he was really walking over to his designated meet & greet spot. She was the first one along with her brother to talk to Pooh and give him a great big hug. Of course I took their picture and she has the biggest smile on her face in all those pictures. I love this priceless memory! Thanks for letting me relive it.

I love Disneyland. we took our kids there in 2008 and my husband and I were mesmerized by everything- we really did become kids again. we got there when the park opened and found it hard to leave when the park closed. but the best thing to us was the fireworks show, they really go all out. it's an experience our kids will never forget.

My favorite Disney memory was when I was at the in-law's for Thanksgiving on year (they live about 20 minutes from Disneyland) and we went for an afternoon before Thanksgiving and they were all decorated for fall ... loved that since fall is my favorite season. We then went back a few days later, and it was all decked out for Christmas! Only Disney magic could create such a huge change of atmosphere in a matter of a couple days!!

My favorite Disney memory is the first time I went to Disneyland. I was 11 years old and lived in Chicago and never had any adventures. My aunt joined the Navy and got stationed in San Diego. We visited her the next summer and went to Disneyland. I was in awe and loved every minute of it! I will never forget that day =)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Disney memory: My son was small when VCRs first came out. You couldn't buy one, but we rented one with the first Winnie the Pooh movie EVERY weekend for most of a year. I always wonder how many VCRs we could have purchased if they had been available! I still have the songs and some of the lines memorized. My son is now 32 years old!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this, what great memories you've brought back! Thanks for everything.
