Welcome to Day 3 of the Christmas in July Blog Hop! You should have come from HERE. If you found me first, be sure to go to the BEGINNING of the hop for some awesome projects!
I took this photo of my youngest son and his cousins in front of the gold tree that used to be my grandparents. We gather at our house for Christmas Eve.
I started out with the title from Storybook with the letters at 1.35 inches. I welded the word cousins from Quarter Note (LOVE this cursive font!) at 1 inch. I found these ornaments from Christmas and they looked similar to the paper I used. I cut them out at 2 inches. My mom collected angels, so I thought it fitting to put the angel on the page (at 2.65 inches) as a tribute to her.
I used gold paper, creme paper, silver paper and metallic light blue paper (that matched the photo mat) to cut out all the pieces.
Here they are cut out.
I ran the letters through my Xyron and used the paper negative piece as a template to get my title on perfectly!
I pulled up the template.
I pop dotted the angel to the top corner.
I pop dotted the ornaments around the photo.
I lost the dot to the i (once again), so I used a crystal instead.
Here is my layout all finished. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

My favorite memories are the things we do every year. 1 is getting an ornament every year for the kids and having there name and the year put on it! 2 would be getting my kids chrismas PJ's every year for them to wear to bed on christmas eve! My kids still love to do both of those and they are 20 and 21.

ReplyDeleteLove your layout. My memory is of my dog. She never would let the kids sneak down to the tree. She always guarded her stocking. Shes not with us anymore but now my children are in the 30's and every year it is brought up. They will never forget that.

I really love this! Is that cartridge with the angel still available? Could you tell me what it is so I can try to find it. I saw it on another post and have already forgotten the name. :p I love your idea to use the negative to line up the letters. I can't believe I have never thought to do that! It's a great tip! I'm already follower. TFS and for the chance to win!
