I am delighted to be a Guest Designer today at SweetSassyDiva's blog. My middle son is in high school and was invited to several graduation parties this year. I prefer to make cards for his good friends. For this card, I took the numbers 2011 and made them into a card.
I welded the word Congrats together (font from Cursive 101) to fit inside the card.
I started with Disney Mickey Font cartridge and put the shadow numbers 2011 at 2.68 height. I welded them together, then copied and pasted another set. I flipped it upside down and moved it on top of the original numbers. I also tapped on the second 0 until it was purple, then hid the inner cut. I welded the two 2011s together. I put the regular numbers 2011 on the screen at 2.68 height for my patterned paper.
I used the font from Cursive 101 at 1 inch height and welded the word Congrats.
I cut out the card in blue which is our main school color.
I had this paper from Creative Memories left over from 2008 when my oldest graduated. It also is the other two school colors.
I put the paper on the front of the card. It seemed a little busy but I really liked the words on it so I just kept going!
I cut out enough pieces for 4 cards. I did make one in red instead of blue for a different high school graduation.
I did not like how the o and n welded together, so I snipped off the extra piece.
I ran the patterned paper and the sentiment through my Xyrons. I make sure to rub the images quite a bit before I remove them to minimize glue bugers!!
I outlined the numbers in black stickles to help with the "busy-ness" of the paper.
I added a diploma from Jolees. This card is for a boy, if it were for a girl I would have added a ribbon around the outside 1. And here is an easy to make graduation card for any year (as long as you change the last digit)!
Thank you Bobbie Jo for having me and my Graduation Card on your blog today!!
