Mother's Day Wine Glasses (Mama Mia Blog Hop)

Welcome

We are here to honor and cherish our Moms this weekend the best way us crafters know how, with a blog hop showcasing some amazing projects either for a special mom or about a special mom in our lives.. We hope that our projects will show Moms everywhere just how special they are to us all.
You should have hopped over from JESSICA.

Can Crop is the first stop on this Blog Hop.

This is a one day blog hop and we appreciate your
leaving a comment for all of these talented friends who are here sharing their
ideas and creations.

For my project today, I decorated some wine glasses for some of the moms in my life!
I found "Fantastic MOM" and "Best Mom" in the Silhouette online store.  I used a font on my computer for "Princess Mom" and added a tiny crown to the "P" and some polka dots (circles) from my tool bar.  I cut everything out in vinyl and adhered them to the glasses.
I love this on the stemless wine glasses.
I think these wine glasses will work for EVERY day, not just Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mother's out there!!!

My mom died when I was 20.  I was sad and angry for about 5 years.  25 years have passed and I have a lot of memories of her and I am grateful I had her for 20 years.  My biggest regret for her is that she never met her grandchildren - she loved children so much too.  I feel her presence all the time and I believe she watches over my family :)

Here is a picture of us shortly after I was born:

Mother's Day in the Daycare

I helped my daycare kids decorate some clay post for their Moms for Mother's Day!

The babies pots are just darling!!!  I painted the pots yellow.  When the paint was dry, I painted their foot green and carefully stamped it on the pot sideways.  This looks like a caterpillar.

I put #1 mom in black vinyl on the back.
I cut put a caterpillar head and face on the heel in orange and black vinyl.
For the older kids, they painted their pots all by themselves.  I added #1 mom and flowers.  I cut them out and the kids got to pick the three flowers they wanted.
I sealed the pots and we added soil and a flower.

I hope all of the Mom's out there have a wonderful weekend!!!

Spring LO (Let's Scrap DT Application Layout)

I am so excited to continue another term as a Design Team Member at Let's Scrap!!  We are also celebrating Scrapbooking all month with several challenges and prizes - be sure to stop by and see!!!
Here is the current sketch Challenge.  You can use either or both sketches.  I used the sketch on the left for my inspiration!
I just love the papers and wood butterfly - you can find them at Frosted Designs HERE.
I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Miracles mixed with Glossy Accents to paint dimension on the butterfly and the dragon fly.
I love the little banner and washi tape too.
I used my white gelly roll pen to journal on the layout.
This is my very handsome second grader Tanner.  They take fun spring photo each year in school.  We get to choose the backgrounds and I just love the brick!!

Tyler's Bionic Arm (Sassy)

Hello and Happy Monday!!

Today I am featured at my dear friend Sheila's BLOG.  In honor of National Scrapbooking Day, I created a scrapbook layout.

My son Tyler is finishing his freshman year at college.  He is a baseball player but had to red-shirt this year due to having Tommy John surgery on his right arm (he had a UCL tear).  Tyler is a catcher and honestly I always figured if he needed surgery it would be his knees or hips - not his arm!!!  Pitchers are the most common surgical candidates for Tommy John surgery.

Tyler had his surgery in March and spent his spring break recovering at home.  After returning to college, he began physical therapy.  These photos were taken during his younger brother's baseball game 6 weeks post surgery.  His brace is a lock out brace that allows his arm to move only where it is safe for him - I called it his bionic arm.
I used the right side of this sketch from Let's Scrap for my layout.
I put some white circles on my paper to mimic the circles on the sketch.  I used acrylic paint and a fabric softener lid.
I used my cameo to type my title.  I added this circle "today" wood piece that I have been dying to use since I bought it!  I never seemed to have room to the right of anything significant on my layouts!!!  I guess it was waiting for this project!
I added a wood heart because Tyler really loves dogs.  He has to borrow dogs because mom is allergic.
I added a couple of arrow wood pieces to the top.
Tyler came downstairs as I was finishing this layout.  He did not know I took these pictures.  He hates when I take his picture and usually scowls at me!!!  He was happy that I got these shots - which make this layout all the more special!!!

Thank you Sheila for having me over today!!!!  Have a great week everyone!

Wedding Tile Gift

A good friend of mine got married last night and I made her a tile as a wedding gift.  I had no idea the gift would be part of the ceremony!!

I used a split letter from the Silhouette Online Store and added Karyn and Doug and the date.  I cut it in black vinyl and put it on a marble tile.  I bought a stand from Hobby Lobby that would hold the heavy tile.
I did not wrap it as I was afraid the box would be deceiving and the gift may get dropped.  Karyn's step mom grabbed it out of my hands and placed it by the unity candle for the ceremony.
It looked so pretty up there!!!  Karyn knew right away who made it for her as she has seen me make these for others!!
Karyn is a dear friend - we have been through a lot together and I am so happy for her.  Her new husband is a gem!!!

Karyn was my daycare helper for several years and my friend Renee (on the left) has a set of twins that Miss Karyn and Miss Lori spent a lot of time with the past 5 years!!

And Karyn lived Happily Ever After!!!

Heart Box with Cork and Bling

Today I am featured on The Buckle Boutique Blog with my heart box!  I started off with a paper mache heart box with a lid from Michaels.
I covered the box with some DCWV Juniper Berry paper.
I adhered a strip of cork around the edge of the lid with a piece of cork from the DCWV Solid cork pad.
I finished it off with a bit of bling from The Buckle Boutique Bling and a flower and you have a great little box!!

Everything looks better with a bit of Buckle Boutique!!!

Music Progarm LO (Let's Scrap)

Today is reveal day at Let's Scrap!  We have a brand new sketch challenge for you.  We have weekly sketch challenges on Wednesdays along with additional challenges and tutorials - come check us out!!!
Here is the sketch - you can use both pages or just one.  I chose to do both pages since I had several pictures of Tanner's Music Program to scrap.
I used paper from Boys Rule and some notes from Quarter Note cut out on my Cricut.  I tucked in some music washi tape behind the photo mats.
I used a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen to ink the edges of the papers.
Tanner got to play the Xylophone (he is wearing the lime green shirt)!  I played flute and piccolo and Tanner is the first of my boys to try a musical instrument!!
