Fall Favorites Blog Hop ~ Glass Block

Welcome to the Fall Favorites Blog Hop!!

If you are looking for the Fall Decor Blog Hop, please go HERE!

If you are looking for the Memories in Tyme Halloween Blog Hop, please go HERE!

You should have arrived her from CONNIE.  If not, please go to the BEGINNING!  Here is a complete listing just in case you get lost along the way!

Now on to my project!!

I purchased this glass block at Michaels about a month ago and I have had a total block (no pun intended) on what Halloween image to put on it.  Finally, I was looking through my gypsy for something else and came across this image on Holiday Cakes.
I put the layers of the haunted house on my mat sized at 7 inches.  I put the witch (sized at 1 inch) and the bat (sized at .65 inch) from Happy Hauntings on my mat.  I put the bat and witch on the same half of the mat as the black layer of the house.
I put black and yellow vinyl on my mat.  I set my cricut at 3-3-3, Pressure 3, Speed 3 and Blade Depth 3.  This gives a nice kiss cut.  It will cut through the vinyl only, not the paper backing.
I take my dental tool and pull (weed) away the extra pieces.  It is helpful to roll up the extra vinyl as you peel it off so it doesn't stick to your project pieces.
Then you weed out the inner cuts (door, windows, etc.). I take clear contact paper cut to size and de-stick it a bit by sticking it on my pants.  Then I smooth it over my image.  I want to stick my black vinyl on top of the yellow layer first.
I use my scraper tool to burnish the vinyl on my contact paper.
I start at one corner and peel it up.  Then I place it over the yellow piece.
Here are the two layers on the glass.
I added ribbon around the edge of the block.
I put the bat and witch on the block.  I put white tulle and a set of 35 white lights (found at Hobby Lobby) inside the block.
Here is my block all lit up.  The stand also came from Hobby Lobby.

For my blog candy today, you just need to be or become a follower or subscriber or both, and leave me a comment about your favorite Fall activity.  Mine is going to the pumpkin patch!!  I will pick a winner on the 24th when I am back in town!

Thank you for stopping by!!  Your next stop on the hop is HERE!

Awesome project Lori! I love all your detailed instructions!!! This is such a clever idea!! Thanks so much for sharing it with us! My favorite fall activity is... spending the day with two of my bff's (we all three share Oct. as our bday month)... we go to the pumpkin patch with the kiddos and lunch somewhere fun... then back to one of our houses for cake and icecream. We always have a great time doing this every year!

How freaking cool is this. Love the look. I am so looking forward to playing with a block I got months ago. I may not do Halloween though..Got my mind set on a Winter Scene. Just have to find the right cricut cart. for it...just started with the Cricut Expression, I only have a few carts. at the moment.
My FAVORITE FALL thing to do...I collect pinecones from the property, make up a delicious scented wax to pour over them. bake it in the oven for about 5 min.. then let dry. Bundle them or string them. The scents last a good little bit. Then its off to the pumpkin farm to pick that just right spooky pumpkin for my front door. Kids are grown, but it is something we do together still.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful lighted block. I am a follower too!
