This week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs is to make a handmade embellishment on your project. I am in love with these bottle caps and found a fun way to use them with these Post-it-Note holders for my son's preschool teachers.
I started with this awesome pad of K&Co. two-sided paper. It is Que Sera Sera and I found it at Michaels.
To make the post-it-note holders, cut your paper into a 10 1/2 x 3 1/2 rectangle. Double sided paper looks the best for this project. You will score the paper on the 10 1/2 inch length side at 3 1/2, 4 1/4, 7 3/4 and 8 1/2. I took two 3x3 post-it-note pads and stuck them together one on top of the other, then used my ATG gun to glue the pad to the holder.
Here is the pink paper inside one of the holders.
I needed a few supplies to pretty the note holder up! I found these cute bunny gems by Jolee's at (you guessed it) Michaels. I also found the bottle caps at Michaels.
I took out a couple of my MS trusty punches.
I used the lacy edge punch on the flap of the holder.
I used the scallop circle to punch paper for the inside of the bottle cap, then put a bunny on top. I used a stip of paper (reverse side up) on the flap to add interest.
I stamped a "For My Teacher" stamp from Joy's Life All Around Sentiment Stamps and had Tanner sign his name. I used Scotch adhesive velcro to hold the flaps closed.
Please join us this week at Frosted Designs and show us your Handmade Embellishments!!!
