Three Trees LO (Christmas in July Blog Hop Day 4)

Welcome to Day 4 of the Christmas in July Blog Hop!  You should have arrived from HERE!  If you found me first, please go to the BEGINNING so you don't miss any great projects or blog candy!!

I do a layout every year that shows our trees.  We are kind of tree freaks!!  We cut a live tree every year, put up a 12' tree in our entryway way and put up my grandparents gold tinsel tree.  The gold tree has a rotating base with music and red and green spotlights!!

This year, my 5 year old decorated our live tree mostly by himself.  Most of the ornaments were at his eye level, so of course I had to take a close up of that!!!

I put the shadow of an ornament shape from Christmas on my Gypsy mat at 4.80w x 6.23h.  I put the words "three trees" on the mat at 1.34 inches and welded them together to fit on the ornament.  I put the scroll (Window function on Ornamental Iron) sized to 1.31w x 11.24h (using Real Size) and rotated -90.  I copy and pasted the scroll to have one for each page.

I cut out the words and scrolls in gold paper and the ornament in burgundy.  Yikes my mat is dirty!!!

I put the ornament on the page at an angle and adhered the title on with my Xyron.  I put a little ribbon on the top of the ornament.  I used paper from Recollections Old Fashioned Christmas pad from Michaels last Christmas.

I added some embellishments from Making Memories from my stash.

I handwrote the journaling on paper that matched my embellishments.  As much as I don't like my handwriting, I know it is important to use it!!  Your children always know your handwriting!!!
And here is my final layout for the Christmas Blog Hop!!!  I was so happy to get caught up on my Christmas layouts from 2010!!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Don't forget, Lynda from Memories in Tyme is giving away a $25 gift card to use at any store to one person. In order to be eligible for the drawing, you must be a follower on all of the blogs in this hop!

You also have one more chance to win my Blog Candy (I will add up all of the entries from the past 4 days and use Random Number to generate my winner).  Please be or become a follower and share with me how many trees you decorate for Christmas.  If you don't celebrate Christmas, please share your favorite holiday decoration instead!

Your next stop in the hop is HERE!!!

Love your layout. I was a hallmark addict at one time so I use to put up 2-4 trees every year. Now that the kids are grown I still try to put up 2 if I get them up around Thanksgiving. It is so much work doing it alone but my favorite time of year. Thanks for sharing

I love that you focused on the ornaments hung at the child's eye level. Those are my favorite types of memories!

This is gorgeous! I love the flourishes you used. They really make the layout just that much more lovely! I love that you put up 3 trees. So cool! We put up one, but have lots of little fake ones all over the house. We have enough to put one in almost every room! LOL TFS and for the chance to win. I'm already a follower. :0)
