Subway Art Christmas

I made this subway art from Teresa Collins Christmas Collage (CCR Exclusive), vinyl and a 12x12 frame.

I put the subway art on my gypsy mat and sized it to 11.50 x 11.49 inches.  The best part is - Teresa did all the work lining up the fonts, words, etc.!!

I cut it out with red vinyl.

When I use vinyl, I set my cricut to 3-3-3 (Speed, Pressure and Blade Depth) to cut a nice kiss cut.  I use my Cricut dental tool to weed away the extra vinyl.

I use cricut transfer tape (cut to 12x12) to peel off the vinyl and adhere to the glass.  I take my cricut scraper to burnish the vinyl onto the transfer tape.

I carefully placed the transfer tape on the glass and burnished the vinyl on it.  Then I slowly peeled off the transfer tape.

I took the backing off the frame and used my glue gun to adhere the glass to the frame.
I could not get a good photo with the frame hanging on my wall due to the shadowing.  It looks good with the wall color showing through (better than my white sheet anyway)!!

This is a fun gift idea or home decor for yourself!

Thanks Coach - Tennis Card

I typically create scrapbook pages but every now and then I need a card.  I prefer to make my own when I have the time and the supplies on hand!!

I made a card for Tyler's tennis coach at the end of his season to thank him for his time and dedication to our team.  I grabbed my Gypsy and opened up Sports Mania.

I took two of these tennis ball frames from the Frame Option sized to 4 inches..  I used Hide Contour to hide all of the inside cuts from the frame on the left.  I welded the two frames together to create my card base.

I cut the card base out of white cardstock.

Because Sports Mania does not have any layer options, I had to make my own.  I put another tennis frame on Layer 2 of my Gypsy.

This time I used Hide Contour to hide the outside square cut.  I cut this out of yellow cardstock.

Here are my pieces cut out.

I used my scissors to trim around the edges of the tennis ball and adhered it onto the front of the card.

I used a stamp from my go-to Pink by Design set Everyday Occasions.

I just love window cards!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Happy Place Layout

This week at Frosted Designs, our challenge is "Happiness Is....." and I have to admit this stumped me!!  I finally settled with my original idea of a layout of our recent trip to Mexico to celebrate 20 years of marriage.

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of things to be happy about, but I feel like I am in a bit of a creative rut!
I made this coordinating page because I HAVE to scrap in 2 page sets!!!

My inspiration for the first page came from a layout on Pinterest:
Instead of stitching, I layered my Creative Memories paper on top of a brown piece of cardstock.   Instead of strips of paper or washi tape, I used some flourishes to mimic the design on the paper.  I added a second photo and cut out my letters with my cricut.

I used Lovely Floral for "Happy" and sized the letters to 1.27 inches.  The "{}" are also from Lovely Floral sized to 2.41 inches.  I hid the inside cuts.  I cut them out of mossy green cardstock.

I used Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art for "place" and sized the letters to .76 inches.  I cut them out of dark brown cardstock.

The flourishes came from Picturesque and Home Accents.

I cut apart the swirls to create a background behind the photos.

It is hard to see my journaling in this photo - I used a brown marker to match the paper.

I pop-dotted the photos on my layout.

Every time I look at the photo of the beach I sigh and just want to go back!!!

For the second page, I started out with a new Layer in my Gypsy.
I put some bamboo trees on my Gypsy mat from Life is a Beach and sized them to 4.06, 5.00 and 5.47 inches.  I cut them out in a dark mossy green cardstock.

I inked the bamboo, letters and flourishes with Vintage Paper and a Fantastyx before I removed them from my cricut mat.
We had a blast snorkeling at Xel-Ha.  This is a salt water river that feeds into the ocean.  We got to snorkel, cliff dive, zip line and swim.  It was a fun day trip!

Our trip was amazing!!!  I hope I don't have to wait another 20 years to go back!!

Thanksgiving Past

Happy Thanksgiving!!  I wanted to bring back some of my favorite past Thanksgiving projects to share with you:

I made this cute centerpiece last year that can double as a treat container.

You can see how I made this HERE.

I also made this banner last year - I am grateful that I take better pictures of my banners than I used to!!!

You can see how I made this banner HERE.

I love making crafts with my daycare children!!!  This is what we made last year - you can see how I used my cricut to help make this one HERE.

Here is a window card I made along with my very first video in 2010.  I love making window cards, videos not so much :)  You can see how I made this card HERE.

This tag was from a Thankful Tag Challenge that we had on the Gypsy Chat section of the Cricut Message Board.  These challenges are where I really learned how to use my Gypsy to its fullest!!

You can see how I made this project HERE!

Here is a tile that I decorated with Vinyl in 2010 for a blog hop.  This was my first project with more than one color of vinyl!!!  You can see how I made it HERE.

And finally, here is a Mini album I made for a Thankful Blog Hop.  I am thankful that I use a better back drop now for my project photos!!!  None the less, I have had fun looking at my projects of years past!  HERE are the instructions for this mini.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!  If you are travelling this year, please be safe!  If you are shopping - I hope you find some great deals :)

Mini Christmas Card

Our challenge today is to use an Imagine cartridge to make a Winter Holiday project.
I used Imagine Snow Angel to create this mini card.

I filled a rectangle and sized it to 2.50 x 4.25 inches with the same pattern that is on one of the snowman's hats.

I cut out this Merry Christmas snowman image at 2 inches.

I cut out the single snowman at 1 inch.

I folded the rectangle to create my card.  I inked all of the edges with Vintage Photo and pop-dotted the Merry Christmas image to the card front.  I added some stickles to the snow bodies.

Here is another view, but it is hard to see the sparkle in a photo!!

I put the little snowman inside :)

Here is my little Christmas Card - it will be perfect to use as a gift tag!

When You Wish Upon a Star...

Today is Mickey Mouse Day at My Cricut Craft Room!

I made this layout from one of our recent trips to Walt Disney World.

I started out with this Mickey silhouette from Mickey Font sized to 8.76 inches.

I cut out the silhouette in black cardstock.  I hid the outer cut to cut out the Mickey head out of other paper (see below).

I opened another Layer on my Gypsy and put the words When you wish upon a star from Mickey Font sized to 1.24 inches.  I was able to see the Mickey head through the layer to make sure I had room for my words.

I thought I was going to use a star die cut, so I put one on my mat from Mickey and Friends sized to 3.12 inches.

I cut out the words and stars in yellow cardstock.  I wanted the ... not !!!, so I just used the dots.

I cut these swirls from Mickey and Friends (Icon key) sized to 5 inches and 5.35 inches

I cut them out of red cardstock.

I cut out two Mickey heads, one in solid red cardstock and one in Mickey paper.  I trimmed off the bottom half of the Mickey paper and adhered them together.

I used my tweezers to roll the swirls from the outside in to make the flowers.  I glued the flower to a 1/2"  circle (punched out from cardstock).  I used my Scotch glue to adhere the flower to the punch.
I stuck a pearl in the center of each flower.

I put this gem star on one ear.
