Wishes TP mini album {Earth Day, Birthday Blog Hop}

Welcome to the It's Earth Day, It's My Birthday Blog hop.  If you came here first, please go HERE to begin the hop (you do not want to miss any projects or prizes)!!

Here is the order of the hop in case you get lost:

In honor of Earth Day, I recycled toilet paper tubes, losing lottery tickets, gems from a lotion bottle, and ribbon that came with my son's pajamas for this project.

I started out with all of my losing lottery tickes.  I used my Sixxiz flower die to cut them into flower shapes.

I inked them purple with a Versa Color mini stamp pad.  I wanted some of the lottery ticket image to show through, so I did not ink too much!

My friend loves tanning beds and I saw this label on her tanning lotion in her car.  I had to have it!!!  She peeled it off and handed it to me and just rolled her eyes (thanks Karyn)!!

I took 4 tp tubes and flattened them with my bone folder.  I put them under some heavy books for about a week to flatten them out.  I cut my paper into 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 rectangles to cover the tp tubes.  I used my ATG gun to glue the paper on.

Here are my album pages ~ it is hard to see here but I inked the edges with purple ink.

I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch holes in the tubes.

This ribbon came tied around a box of pajamas I bought my son.  I always save free ribbon!!!  The white did not really go, so I inked it.

Here is the same ink I used on the flower.  I also inked some ribbon lime green.

Here is one of the crystals from the lotion bottle.

Here is the ribbon I inked lime green.

I have a file in my Gypsy saved with tags for the tp album.  {***Added}The tags for the inside of the tp tubes measure 2.53w x 3.95h.  I only needed 4 for my project, but cut them all out and will use the others for a future project.

I found the work Wish from Gypsy Wanderings cartridge and welded "es" from Lyrical Letters to the end of it for my title.

Here are the other words I found.  Happiness and Dreams are from CM Cheerful Season, and Family is from Gypsy Wanderings.
I cut the tags from Lacy Labels in a creme cardstock and inked the edges with purple.

Here is my Wishes Mini Album once again.  This will make a nice gift for a friend to write down her wishes and add some small photos!

I have some blog candy and I will use Random.org to select my winner on Sunday, April 24th.  In order to qualify for the Blog Candy, you need to #1 be or become a follower, #2 provide me a way to reach you if you are the winner, and #3 tell me your favorite item/project that you have recycled!
This is a 3x5 notebook that I made.

Now, to continue on with the hop....your next stop is HERE!  Enjoy!

I loved your album even before I saw how you did it all. I am SO impressed! You are amazing at recycling! Love you goals ~ when I'm making cards ~ I always cut out an extra to have on hand. I've got bags of scraps to use ~ never throw anything away. My favorite recycling was YEARS ago ~ I used egg cartons (the pink, yellow & green ones) to write out the word "spring" and had it on the wall in my classroom.

OMG, you did a great job with recycled items. This is beautiful I just love it!!!
I had to laugh though, because I was saving toilet paper rolls (I had them in my bathroom - hadn't moved them to the craft room yet) and we had spring garbage cleanup the other day. I was at the doc and my husband went into my bathroom and took all of my tubes to the garbage can! Now I didn't know what I was going to do with them yet, but I will start again and try this out!

Hi Lori,

I am a new follower and this project is just so neat. I believe a true, but rare, form of creativity is the ability to recycle ordinary objects into beautiul works of art. That is exactly what you did with this wonderful album! Lottery tickets! That is brillant! I like to recycle used cards. Cards that are given to my sons or hubby, while appreciated, are usually tossed to the side. That's where I come in. I see every card as a future embellishment in waiting. I enjoyed your blog very much and am looking forward to more projects!

Thank you!

This is an awesome project idea! So innovative, and a GREAT re-use of resources!!

I just recycle/reuse paper...if there is an edge that is more than 1"x1", I will keep it and I NEVER throw out any leaves, hearts or other small items I do not use. I have boxes of the crazy little "left-overs" because they can be used for confetti at a New Year's gathering if nothing else! :)
