Thanksgiving Place Cards

This is my Design Team post for My Cricut Craft Room!!

Today is my very first post for My Cricut Craft Room and our theme today is Thanksgiving Table or Decor.

I found these adorable place cards on CCR Thanksgiving Table Decor and decided to give them a go!

I sized this place card at a height of 3 inches.  I was able to put 4 on my mat knowing my paper would work for horizontal or vertical images.  The inside (opening) has a fork and knife welded to it ~ very cute!!

I used this fun fall-colored cardstock to cut out my place cards.

I cut out the rectangle layer in white carstock also sized to 3 inches.

I wanted to add this cute acorn to the top corner.  I cut out both layers at 3 inches (they are sized to fit a 3 inch place card).

I cut them out of some brown cardstock scraps.  Before I took them off my mat, I inked the edges with a Fantastix and Walnut Stain ink.

I scored my place cards.  It is hard to see here, but I have a pencil line drawn all the way across at 6 inches on my score board.  This is helpful when my projects are not a perfectly sized square or rectangle for scoring!!  I matched up the score marks (the only reason I like them) and scored away.

I wanted to put names on the place cards, so I welded them using Quarter Note (my favorite cursive font right now!) and reduced the size until it fit in the space.

I opened up a new layer for the words and could see the first layer in the background.  This helps me size the layered pieces.

Here is a close up of Tanner's place card.  I pop-dotted the acorn to the top corner.

Here are the three I completed.  These were fun to make!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!  I hope I inspired you to decorate your Thanksgiving table this year!

Lori,
These are so cute! I too cannot get the hang of CCR but then again my computer is really hard to move around cause my battery died in my laptop and I have to completely shut it down to move it anywhere. :(

I also LOVE that stick or whatever it was called you used to ink your image before removing it from your mat...do tell more about that.

So glad to be serving here at MCCR with you.
