KCC Vacation Blog Hop

Welcome to the Krazy Crafting Crew's Vacation Blog hop!

Summer is almost over (gasp!) and hopefully you've gotten some great vacation memories.

This hop is all about crafting our vacations.

To start from the beginning of our trip head on over to Cicily the PinkDalmatianScrapper
Be sure and comment on our great vacation inspiration to win some awesome CTMH blog candy!

It is almost vacation time!!!!

We have just 50 days until we go to Walt Disney World!!!  It has been two years since we were last there and I am super excited!!!  If you want to see how I made this countdown calendar, just go HERE.

This time, my youngest will almost be 8 and is no longer interested in autographs (sniff sniff).  I typically make an autograph mini album before we go and have the characters sign the book.  This time, I am only making pages for our character meals and the events we are planning on attending.  I am making more generic Disney pages for photos or whatever!

This is our first time going to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Diner and it looks soooo cool!!  You eat dinner in these really cool cars.  I had fun creating these pages!

I used my Gypsy and Nifty Fifties to create these pages.

I put the Drive In sign and layers on my mat.  I sized them to 4 inches.

Here are the pieces all cut out.

I adhered them together and wrote CRUZ on the license plate and "See Movies!!  And Eat In Your Car!!" as that is what is advertised on their web page.

I sized the car to 3.5 inches.  I sized the microphone from the radio image to 1.38.  I wanted to use it as the speaker from the drive-in!

I used cardstock to cut the images out.

I sized the letters to 1.06 inches so they would fit across the 8 inch pages.

For the dash (-) I turned a lower case i on its side and deleted the dot.

I used stickles for the headlights, tires and chrome bumper.

I pop-dotted the sign and the car to the pages.  This way I can slide a photo under them.

My next page is for the Hot Air Balloon Ride we are planning!!

This time I turned to my Cameo.

I purchased this super cute balloon from the Silhouette Store, but wanted Mickey Heads instead of hearts.  I made my own Mickey Heads with three circles (this is my first ever creation LOL).  Did I mention I am a newbie????

I un-grouped the balloon pieces.  Next I released the compound of the balloon layers (one at a time) and sized my Mickey Head.

I am sure there is an easier way to do this, but I put the Mickey right on top of the heart.  Then I nudged it to the right 10 times.  This allowed me to grab the heart and move it away.  Then I nudged the Mickey to the left 10 times.

Here is the end result!!

I have no idea what the real balloon will look like, but I wanted traditional Disney colors for my album.

I grabbed a cloud leftover from a different project and tucked it under the balloon.

The font was from dafont.com called Walt Disney.  I cut out the title to fit my 8 inch page.

I found one other image that I wanted to use with my cameo.

This image I saw on Pinterest and traced it - all by myself!!!

When I cut, I like to fill my page.  The road and roller coaster pieces are for pages not yet finished for this same album!

I put the hands on the page, but needed a way to get the buttons just right on the gloves.

I saved the extra cuts (aka trash) and used them as templates.

I do the same thing for my words all the time!!

I carefully peel away the extra piece and it is perfectly placed!!

Very cute - will look even cuter with a photo of Tanner in the center :)

I received this washi tape in a secret sister Easter gift and thought it would be perfect on this page!

I tucked the edges around the back.

This will be the last page in the album!

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my pages.  I have other pages and the album cover completed you can see the PAGES and ALBUM if you are wanting ideas for your own album.

I find the characters spend more time with my son when he has pages all decorated up!

Your next stop in the vacation journey is MIRANDA.

Love your countdown calendar. I am SO envious. I would LOVE to be going back to Disney. You are oging to totally have a blast. I remember when we took my eldest when he was little I had also made an autograph book. The next time we went my eldest one was too old for autographs and my youngest one was too young and afraid of the characters. In 2010 he was too old for autographs but we did so many photos that I still haven't scrapped them all and the pages don't even all fit in one of those HUGE D-ring 12x12 binders. Can't wait to see your photos when you return!
