Shot Book

I recently turned 21.

Well, 21 times 2 plus 3!!

My friend Kylie has a friend who is turning 21 in August and asked for my help making her Shot Book.  Silly me, I thought she meant an immunization book or even a photo shot book at first.

When she told me about all the shots and activities they had planned and wanted scrapbook pages made - I was like YES that sounds like fun!!!  Then I felt a little tipsy just thinking about all that alcohol!!

I designed and cut out the paper and vinyl, but Kylie put everything on paper (including the gems and stickles) except for the vinyl on the cover.  I have Kylie's permission to put the pages we designed and made on my blog.

I used my Gypsy, Cricut and my Cameo!

The fireball is from the Silhouette store and is a baseball with flames.  We deleted the "laces" layer.

The font is Hannah Montana for all pages unless noted.

The hand came from A Child's Year.  I did a search on Pinterest for Spanking looking for an image of a hand to trace.....found a lot of interesting images but none were appropriate!!!

Scooby Snack was fun!  The bone is from  A Child's Year and the peace signs are from Disney/Pixar Cars.  Loved the bright colors - our inspiration was the Mystery Machine!

Kylie put individual gems on the letters!!

The lips are from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.  There is a giant set of lips under the photos.  Kylie pop-dotted the smaller lips around the page.

This page was challenging.  This is the page where she will take a picture with the bouncer and her ID.  We searched for a body-builder image to represent the bouncer with no luck.  

We created a Security shirt instead - totally Kylie's idea.  We used Impact font (with the Cameo) and the shirt from the Silhouette store.  The drivers license is from Locker Talk.  

The bomb came from Indie Art (the third time I have ever used this cartridge). 

The beer mug is from the Silhouette Store.  I embossed the foam!!  The font is Blackletter.

I welded a border with a camera image from Makin' the Grade.  The cursive font is from Quarter Note.

This font is Liquidism from dafont.com and cut with my cameo.  The shot glass was purchased from the Silhouette Store.

I used vinyl to decorate the cover of the album.  The font I used is from Art Philosophy.

The F: stands for FROM

The T: stand for TIME

and the X: is for Dana's signature

Kylie created half of the album.  Dana's sister made the other 10 pages.  I am happy to hear Dana's mom will be the designated driver!!  I sure hope it is a birthday to remember!!!

My sister-in-law is turning 40 next month....I told her I would make her a Shot Book.  She politely declined, especially after I suggested 40 shots for 40 years.  Clearly I am not a drinker!!!!

Baseball Photo Decor with Square 1

I have been playing with Square 1 Masterpiece Repositionable Adhesive Fabric and I have to say - this is by far my favorite project I have made!!!!

I bought these canvases LAST summer to make something for my cousin's wedding.  She never got me the photos I asked for so it just sat and sat and waited for a different opportunity.

I don't have the exact project so show you but here are two similar ones I found on Pinterest:

 

Take the wedding photos from the left and put them on the canvas and add wedding words - that was my original project.

Being a baseball mom, it just hit me to create a baseball canvas.  I did not want to mod podge photos onto the 4x4 canvases, so I just copied them onto the repositionable fabric on my copy machine/printer!!

This stuff is amazing and the best part is - as Tanner grows I can replace the photos!!!

I trimmed three of the photos to 4x4.  The last photo I kept 4x6 because it was going in a scrapbook page.

I trimmed the photos and put them on the canvas pieces.

You just peel them off the backing like a sticker!  If they go on crooked - no worries!!!  You just try again!

You can see I was stuck on the vertical positioning at first.

I came up with my own baseball sayings and they were not fitting in the space, so I turned it horizontal.

I used my gypsy and MyCutSearch.com to find all my fonts!!

I use MyCutSearch all the time to find images on cricut cartridges.  I did not know how to search fonts until I asked.  I wanted to share what I learned with you - so HERE are the directions with photos!!

I used:

 Hannah Montana, Hello Kitty Font, MS Seasonal Art Cake, Base Camp, Artiste, Craft Room Basics, and Nate's ABC's

I cut the words out in vinyl and transferred them to the top half of the canvas.

I adhered black ribbon around the edges of the canvas.

I used washi tape, a ruler and my 12x24 cricut mat to space my small canvases on the bottom half.

I love that washi tape doesn't stick too well for this project!!

I used hot glue to adhere them down and peeled the washi tape off.

Here is a side view so you can see the dimension.  I originally covered the small canvases with ribbon, but did not like the gaps it had - so I took it off.

Tanner played his first season of select baseball this year and we are coming up on our state tournament.  I am very proud of him!!  He is 7 on an 8 year old team.  He has been watching his brothers play baseball his entire life and now is his turn!!!

I purchased frames with special mats for his brothers several years ago and can not find anything similar now.  I have to say, I like this one MUCH better than his brothers frames!!!

In the Garden Journal

Do you know a mom who loves to garden?  This may be a wonderful Mother's Day gift for her!!

I covered a composition notebook with some paper from Good Day Sunshine paper pack that I found at Hobby Lobby.

I purchase the cut in the Garden from the Silhouette Store.

I trimmed a file folder to 7 inches wide and adhered it to the inside of the cover.

I made a pocket inside the folder for notes about plants - plants you like/dislike/want/don't want.

I included a pocket in the back cover for notes for next year.  I used Walk in My Garden Cricut cartridge for the flower pot borders (.87 inches each) and flowers (1 inch each).  I used Hannah Montana for the font sized to .88 inches.

I included some butterfly ribbon and a paper flower to the cover.

This will make a great gift for anyone who love gardening!!

Teacher Appreciation Posters

Teacher Appreciation is coming up!  One of the things we do in our Elementary School is volunteer to make posters for the teachers and staff.  I had to stop myself at 4!!!  I only have 1 in elementary school, and in addition to my son's teacher, I picked the Librarian, SPED Teachers and a 6th grade teacher.

I used my Gypsy and a 12x24 mat to line up my letters and use the template (leftover piece) to adhere my letters perfectly!  All of my posters were inspired by Pinterest!!

First up is the poster for Tanner's teacher.  Tanner picked this one out.  I used Plantin' Schoolbook for the font and Hannah Montana for the butterflies.  I wrote each student's name on a butterfly and added some stickles.

For our SPED Teachers, I used this quote that I saw on Pinterest.  I used Hannah Montana for the font.  I  hid the circle inside the "a" and added a heart also from Hannah Montana.  I grouped the heart and the"a" together.

I added four hearts sized to 3.77 inches for the teachers.  I used Nate's ABC's for the teacher names.

Mr. Rodningen is one of our 6th grade teachers.  He loves rocks and displays them in the window sill of his classroom.  Every morning our children have the option to participate in walking club.  When it is cold, rainy or snowy, we walk inside the building.  Recently we walked inside and I noticed his rocks for the first time.  I saw this poster idea on Pinterest but did not think it was a good choice for the female teachers.....but it was perfect for Mr. R!!  No one had signed up to make his poster yet so I took it!!

I used Batman for the font.  I tore and inked paper to look like rocks.

I had soooo much fun making this one!!!  I realize that school librarians are now Media Specialists and they do so much more than read books, but I could NOT resist this design!!!  

I started out with  7 pieces of white cardstock and painted them red, green, lt. green, orange, purple and lt. purple.  I added some white and darker shades of each color to create a finger paint look.

I cut out the letters from Nate's ABCs and traced them on the back of the papers and cut them out.  The heart is hand drawn.

I traced part of the heart and sketched the caterpillar on the side.  I hand cut out the pieces of the caterpillar from the green and light green papers.

Most of you know that I have an in-home daycare.  I currently have 5 (of my 8) families who are teachers.  I love our teachers and truly believe they have the most important job - shaping our future leaders, managers, presidents, etc.  They work long after their day is done and are on several committees, mentor programs, morning/afternoon duties - they give so much!  This is the least I can do to give a little back!!

Sympathy Cards for a Special Lady

Hello!  I have such a hard time making sympathy cards.  I try to tailor the color scheme or theme to the individual.  This individual was very dear to me.  Helen was my SIL's mother.  My SIL is like a little sister to me and I just loved her mom!  I was so sad to learn that Helen's health was declining.

Helen's favorite color was orange.  She loved flowers and animals.  I made two cards, one for her husband and the other for Amie (SIL).

I am sharing these swing cards today at the BugBytes.  I just love these cards from CTMH Artiste cartridge.

I have a file in my Gypsy titled cards.artiste and I have all the cards saved with coordinating shapes.

I put two of each card (sized to 5 inches) on a page so that an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock will cut  both.

I used kraft cardstock for these cards.

I used this butterfly from Hannah Montana sized to 1.16 inches for one of the cards.

The circles came from Artiste and are sized to 3.51 inches.  I hid the scallops on two of them.

The flower shape is from Mother's Day Bouquet and sized from 1 - 1.82 inches.

I used cardstock papers to cut out the pieces.  I used my McGill stylus to round up the flower petals.

I added some crystals to the butterfly and outside of this card.  I also added a strip of orange patterned cardstock to the inside edge.

I stamped an orange scalloped circle with Sympathy from Pink By Design stamps

I adhered the scallop edge from the orange circle to the yellow circle and added the butterfly layers.

On the second card, I used washi tape to make leaves and adhered the flower on.  I added a crystal to the center of the flower.

Again, I stamped the sentiment on the inside.  I added some washi tape to the inside of this card.

I have many fond memories of laughing with Helen!  I am so glad she was in my life :)
