Cell Phone Meets Glitter Vinyl

Hello - Today I have a sneak peek at a brand new product coming to The Buckle Boutique!!!  Glitter vinyl!!!  Many of you know that I love cutting vinyl and putting it everywhere!!  Now I can add a little sparkle!!  ****UPDATE Some of the glitter colors are now in the store HERE.

I use the font Ballerina Script from dafont.com.  I offset it a tiny bit to thicken it up.
I measured the back of my cell phone and sized my "L" to fit (2.750 h x 1.685 w).

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out using the Vinyl setting, but adding a double cut.
It cut like butter!!!!  This vinyl is very sparkly.  It is very smooth and the glitter does not rub off!
I peeled away the extra vinyl.  You can see the back side is a sliver glitter!
I used my dental tool to weed out the center pieces.
You can really see the sparkle here!
Normally I use a transfer tape when working with vinyl.  The glitter vinyl did not really stick to the transfer tape I have here, so I just carefully peeled it up and put it on my phone case.  I am going to experiment with some different tapes for those intricate designs!!

Can you see the possibilities of glitter adhesive vinyl???  Join me again to see!!!

Cell Phone Decor with Square 1 Masterpiece

I recently found a new vinyl material called Square 1 Masterpiece.  It is a printable adhesive backed fabric and you can print on it, paint it and easily remove it from your walls (or cell phone cases) and re-use it later.  I have been making labels for my daycare calendar, children chart and cubbies and wanted to use the scraps for a fun project!

I change my cell phone decor frequently - for holidays, seasons or just because!!  I usually use vinyl and when I am done, I have to throw away the vinyl because it comes off all crinkled and stuck together.

Square 1 Masterpiece comes off all in one piece and can be saved and re-used!!

Back to those scraps....

I used crayola watercolor paints (don't look how dirty the paint is - the kids use these daily) and blended some colors together.

I dabbed the paint with a paper towel and let the vinyl dry.

I used my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch to make these butterflies.

I put three of them on my cell phone case.

They were a little crooked - no problem I just peeled them off.

Look it is in one piece!!

I stuck them back down crooked on purpose this time!!

I plan on making more designs for my cell phone.  The best part is, I can keep these butterflies and put them back on.  You can use a page protector to store your pieces or even the backing from sticker sheets.

If you are interested in Square 1 Masterpiece, you can check out their website HERE.  I will be featuring additional projects on my blog and on my Square 1 Masterpiece Pinterest Page.

NOTE:  Through Sunday, June 16, 2013 - the Printable Adhesive Backed Fabric is $2.00 off.  Click the link above for details!!

Cell Phone Decor

Hello!!  Happy June!!  Happy Summer!!  Time for new clothes and new cell phone designs!!

Today is my day over at Sheila's blog She's A Sassy Lady and I wanted to share this fun project with her followers too!!

I made this cell phone vinyl design for a friend of mine.  Kylie is one of my helpers in my daycare and her boyfriend of 2 years is currently deployed.  She saw a similar cell phone monogram design on Pinterest and asked me if I thought I could make one for her and Andrew - Challenge accepted!!!

I have a file saved in my Gypsy that is the exact size of my Samsung LG phone.  Kylie has the same phone so I just opened my file and got designing!

I have a rectangle that I sized to 2.5 w x 4.5 h.  I unlocked the chain and used Real Size to get this configuration.

I opened another layer and left the eye open on the first so I could see it though the mat.

I used the font from Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art.  I made the & 1.42 inches and the A and K each .70 inches.  I came to these measurements by welding first and then sizing the design to fit the space.

I cut the monogram out in purple vinyl.

I set my cricut to speed 3, pressure 3 and blade depth 3 and cut.

So pretty!!!

Speaking of pretty....here is Kylie and Andrew!!
