Disney/Pixar Blog Hop ~ Toy Story Layout

Welcome to the Much Anticipated Disney/Pixar Blog Hop!!!  You should have arrived from Tami's blog.  If not, please go to Shawn's BLOG to start at the beginning so you don't miss anything!!!

For those of you who don't know me, I am a HUGE Disney fan!!  We have been to Disney 4 times in the last 3 years and we are planning a Disney Cruise in October 2011!

I made a Toy Story layout from our September 2009 trip since Tanner dressed up as Buzz Lightyear for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

I do have some Blog Candy detailed the end of my post!  Just in case you get lost along the way, here is the order of the hop!
Lori YOU ARE HERE!

I wanted to make a laser cut look layout.  I have three different versions of this basic layout saved on my Gypsy.  I have a tutorial HERE that shows how I made them.
I took one of my layouts and used it to create my 2-page layout.  For the first page, I welded the blackout shadow of Woody (3.62w x 6.54h) in the big open space on the left.  I welded he blackout shadow of "Toy Story" (4.42w x 3.15h) at the top.

For the right side, I flipped the page side to side and welded Buzz into to large open space (5.29w x 6.77h).  I cut out both pages in black.  If I were to do this layout again, I would not have cut them out in black because the bottom layer of the characters is black.

I copied the layers for "Toy Story" onto another layer.  I sized them to match the blackout shadow, then ungrouped them and separated by colors.

I did the same for Woody.

Nine different colors for Woody!!!  I cut them out and then glued them on the black base with my Martha Stewart glue pen.

I did use a black pen to color some of the highlights.
I put the pieces for Buzz on a 12 x 24 mat to size them then separate them.  I had enough pieces that I needed two 12 x 12 mats, so I grouped, copied and pasted half of them onto another layer.

Here is one page.

Cut out.

Here is the other page.

Cut out.  Notice all the tape ~ I did not want to take a chance at having to recut all my scraps and then recut the cuts!!  Eleven colors for Buzz!  This was a lot of work, but they look great!

After I put Buzz together, I used Glossy Accents on his helmet.

I outline the space first, then fill it in.
When it dries it is very shiny and is dimensional.

The layout had too much white space for me, so I added a couple of Army men.

I have been much better about journaling (yay for me) so I decided it would be fun to journal on the planet.

Here is a close up of "Toy Story".

Here is the two-page layout.  I got the background paper from WDW.  Tanner is dressed up as Buzz Lightyear in the pictures.
And here is my blog candy!  All you have to do to qualify is be or become a follower and leave me a comment on your favorite Disney Character or Disney memory!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Your next stop on the hop is LENA!  Enjoy!!

Your layout is great! I am new & don't have much in supplies yet.
My favorite Disney? I am orginally from Fla. so Disney was always in our lives. But years passed, I grew up and we had a son. He was born with cancer. In 1992, Make A Wish, granted Tommy, now almost 3, his wish to meet Micky, so we went. He was SO happy, and he ate well for the whole week something that wasn't going good at the time. The Orlando Majick Team found out about Tommy & sent us a gift basket, I still have the beach towel. We used gallons of Water Babies Sun screen on his bald little head!
My dear Tommy passed away 6 days after his 3rd birthday, but I will ALWAYS remember his joy.

I love this layout and I think black was a great way to make it look laser cut. I never think to use my glossy accents like you did, but that was a great touch.

I'm a Tigger girl all the way, we even named our little freeway bouncer Tigger (that's how he became our cat, he was bouncing down the middle of the freeway and we stopped to rescue him, so between his stripes and his bouncing appearance, there was no doubt what his name would be!).

What a clever and wonderful layout! My favorite Disney memory is getting to go to Epcot for a half-day as part of a business trip (the sponsoring company paid for all of us to go). It was mid-February and 40 degrees (balmy compared to home) and we never had to wait in line all afternoon! Still need to scrap those pics!!

My favourite Disney memory is taking a surprise trip from WA to Disneyland with our quadruplets. They didn't get where we were until we walked from our hotel to Downtown Disney!!!! Priceless memory.

My absolute favorite character is Cinderella. I used to listen to a Record of the story constantly when I was younger. Loved your layout. Lots of layers and you made it look so good.

My Favorite "Disney" memory/moment has to be last year when we surprised the kids with a trip. We woke up the morning after the last day of school at 6am, drove to the airport and told them we were going on vacation. They did not figure it out until we pulled out their "Ears" in the Magical Express lane. All 3 of them were overjoyed!

Wow I love that layout. My son, now 13 was a huge Buzz and Woody fan. I don't have that cartridge because I have scrapped most all those memories already. One of my Disney memories wasn't on one of our park trips but it was at Disney on Ice. I think my son was almost 2 or almost 3 and we went to see Disney on Ice and he loved it. It was the one that starred the Toy Story Cast. When it was time to go he cried "By Buzz, By Woody" over and over and over with such tears. We had a 40 minute drive and he went on at least 20 minutes :)
