Shot Book

I recently turned 21.

Well, 21 times 2 plus 3!!

My friend Kylie has a friend who is turning 21 in August and asked for my help making her Shot Book.  Silly me, I thought she meant an immunization book or even a photo shot book at first.

When she told me about all the shots and activities they had planned and wanted scrapbook pages made - I was like YES that sounds like fun!!!  Then I felt a little tipsy just thinking about all that alcohol!!

I designed and cut out the paper and vinyl, but Kylie put everything on paper (including the gems and stickles) except for the vinyl on the cover.  I have Kylie's permission to put the pages we designed and made on my blog.

I used my Gypsy, Cricut and my Cameo!

The fireball is from the Silhouette store and is a baseball with flames.  We deleted the "laces" layer.

The font is Hannah Montana for all pages unless noted.

The hand came from A Child's Year.  I did a search on Pinterest for Spanking looking for an image of a hand to trace.....found a lot of interesting images but none were appropriate!!!

Scooby Snack was fun!  The bone is from  A Child's Year and the peace signs are from Disney/Pixar Cars.  Loved the bright colors - our inspiration was the Mystery Machine!

Kylie put individual gems on the letters!!

The lips are from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.  There is a giant set of lips under the photos.  Kylie pop-dotted the smaller lips around the page.

This page was challenging.  This is the page where she will take a picture with the bouncer and her ID.  We searched for a body-builder image to represent the bouncer with no luck.

We created a Security shirt instead - totally Kylie's idea.  We used Impact font (with the Cameo) and the shirt from the Silhouette store.  The drivers license is from Locker Talk.

The bomb came from Indie Art (the third time I have ever used this cartridge).

The beer mug is from the Silhouette Store.  I embossed the foam!!  The font is Blackletter.

I welded a border with a camera image from Makin' the Grade.  The cursive font is from Quarter Note.

This font is Liquidism from dafont.com and cut with my cameo.  The shot glass was purchased from the Silhouette Store.

I used vinyl to decorate the cover of the album.  The font I used is from Art Philosophy.

On each page
The F: stands for FROM
The T: stand for TIME
and the X: is for Dana's signature

Kylie created half of the album.  Dana's sister made the other 10 pages.  I am happy to hear Dana's mom will be the designated driver!!  I sure hope it is a birthday to remember!!!

My sister-in-law is turning 40 next month....I told her I would make her a Shot Book.  She politely declined, especially after I suggested 40 shots for 40 years.  Clearly I am not a drinker!!!!

Easter Blessings Layout (Spring Blossoms Blog Hop)

Hello and welcome to the Spring Blossoms Blog Hop!

If you are looking for the Going Retro Blog Hop with Paper Wishes Productions, go HERE.

It is finally spring weather here in Nebraska!!   We are celebrating spring by making projects with spring flowers!

I am the first stop in the hop so if you found me first, you are in the right place!!

I have included a complete list of blogs in the hop in case you get lost along the way!!

  1. Lori Apgar - http://www.scrappinmystressaway.blogspot.com/ ****HERE
  2. Teresa Russell~http://freshandrenewed.blogspot.com/

  6. Christine ~ http://hotberrydesigns.blogspot.com/

For my project today, I created an Easter layout.

I am a gypsy girl and naturally I grabbed my G and started looking for Easter and flowers!

I started out with my title Easter Blessings from CCR Exclusive Easter Blessings and sized the layers to 2 inches.

I cut out the chick from Easter 2010 sized to 1.35 inches

I loaded my cardstock on my mat and cut out the pieces.

I cut some grass (that sounds funny) from Easter 2010 sized to 2.76 inches.

I cut out some flowers from Easter 2010 sized to 1.71 inches.

I cut the tulips from A Child's Year sized to 1.55 inches.

I copied the flowers onto the bottom of my mat to cut them out in green for the leaf layers.

I cut out flowers in yellow, pink and orange.  The grass and leaves are in green.

The blue I originally cut did not look as good as I hoped, so I re-cut Easter Blessing out of pink.

I inked all of the grass and leaves.  I added the chick in front along with some stickles.  The flowers also needed some sparkle, so I added stickles.

I will add a 4x4 photo of my boys from Easter in the center of the yellow mat.

I really like this paper from DCWV Collage Art stack as a background.

I hope you are having a wonderful spring.  Tulips are my favorite spring flower, what are yours?

Your next stop in this hop is the lovely TERESA.

Fall Cell Phone Decor (Sweet Sassy Diva)

Hi!  I am here with a Happy Fall Y'All project for Sweet Sassy Diva's Blog today.  I LOVE Halloween and when I think of fall I think of Halloween!!  I decorate my home, daycare and yes my cell phone!!!

Last month, I decorated my new cell phone case with vinyl.  You can see my first vinyl project HERE.  I thought it would be fun to change my vinyl with the season, so for the Fall I wanted to add a little witch!

I found this trick or treat witch from A Child's Year and sized it to fit within the rectangle that represents my cell phone case.  She is sized to 2.41 width x 3.35 height.

I cut her out with black vinyl.  When cutting vinyl, I set my Expression to 3-3-3 (Speed, Pressure and Blade Depth) for a nice kiss cut.  For one of my vinyl tutorials, please go HERE.
I hope you enjoy your fall :)

Nieces Are Nice Layout

Happy Labor Day!!  Today I am the Guest Designer over at She's A Sassy Lady with a spunky layout of my nieces.

****If you are looking for the Halloween Spooktacular Banner Blog Hop, please go HERE!

I love welding with my Gypsy and really wanted to make a unique background for this picture of Sophie and Sabryna.  I took random words that describe these two sisters and used a variety of fonts and cartridges to create my background.

I am not sure if this is subway art or not, but I have fun making backgrounds like this.  I added some hearts (George) and ready made words (Giggle, Whatever, Splish Splash, Dance and Diva) and created the rest.  Sophie shows horses and Sabryna has always loved piggies.  I think they are beautiful and made sure the picture was just under that word!

Here are the carts I used:  A Child's Year, Birthday Bash, George, Graphically Speaking, Hannah Montana, Home Accent, Home Decor, Mother's Day Bouquet, Rock Princess, Shall We Dance, Varsity Letter and Wall Decor and More.

I usually open a 12x24 mat and put all of my words on the right side initially.  I size them and place them on the left side until all the spaces are filled.  Then I re-size my mat (from the main menu) back to 12x12.  I weld everything together and cut.  I used blue cardstock and carefully mounted it to a light blue cardstock trimmed to 11.75" square.  I mounted the light blue cardstock to the same color blue cardstock I used for the word mesh.

I used Mother's Day Bouquet to make these flowers.  I sized the small ones at 0.73 inches and the bigger ones at 1.12 inches.  I cut them out of pink cardstock and added a pearl to the center.

My sister-in-law took this photo of the girls on picture day last year.  I used mostly blue to match their clothes, but if you look closely you can see the pink flowers in the bush behind them.  That was all I needed for my accent color.

What a fun layout of my nieces.  This one just might be going in a frame for a while!!

Thank you for stopping by today!!

Class Picnic (LO)

Hi ~ Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway!!

I am excited to be here at She's A Sassy Lady with a 2 page layout I created BEFORE I broke my right wrist.

Tanner's Kindergarten class picnic was held at our neighborhood park the last Thursday of the school year.  Tanner played soccer, football and baseball with his friends.  I wanted to capture this special day for him.

Of course, I started with my Gypsy:
I found the soccer players from Sports Mania and sized them to 2.08 inches.

I found the grass from A Child's Year and sized them to 2.85 inches.  I ended up cutting two sets.

I grabbed the sign from Street Sign and sized it (and the layers) to 3.16 inches.

I used letters also from Street Sign to spell out PARK sized to 1 inch.

I found the swingset and slide from Pop-Up Neighborhood sized to 1.77 inches.

I used the font from Nate's ABC's sized at 1.56 inches.

I opened up another layer and grouped the green cuts all together.

I opened another layer in order to group the rest of the cuts by color.  I cut everything out of cardstock.

I pop-dotted the grass cuts over the photos and park sign.

I used my Cricut Imagine and the Hopscotch cartridge to print the cloud paper.  I printed one 12x12 sheet and cut it in half - one for each page.

I crinkled up some creme colored cardstock and inked it to look like sand.  I put the swingset and slide in the sand.

I did not use the shadow layer for the title because I cut the wrong shade of blue.  I liked it better without a shadow, so I left it.
I journaled on a cloud.
I have been trying to use more than one patterned papers in my layouts - I am still not comfortable with this!!!  I used a string of green twine to separate the sky from the polka dotted grass.

Thanks so much Sheila for having me over today!!!

Here is my ispiration (from Pinterest) for this page:

I started with my Gypsy and a Quote that I have said to myself a lot since I became a mom!

I knew the size of circle I needed to fit my 4x6 photo.  I put a circle from Art Philosophy in the center of the page sized to 4.15w x 3.96h.

I placed hearts from Art Philosophy around the circle ranging in size from .73 inches to 1.59 inches.  I used my rotate button to place the hearts exactly where I wanted them to be on my white cardstock.

I cut out the circle from a piece of white cardstock.
I place the quote LOVE is patient love is kind from A Child's year on my mat.

I took my blade housing out of my cricut and replaced it with my Cri-Kits gel pen holder and a red pen.  I loaded my white cardstock and let the cricut draw in my words.

Here is the paper with the words drawn on.

I trimmed my paper 1/8" on each side and mounted it to a piece of Valentine's Day paper (with the picture showing through the circle).

I cut out the hearts in burgundy cardstock.  After I cut the hearts out, I placed the leftover piece (aka template) over my white page and adhered the hearts on.

I carefully peeled the template off the layout.

I cut out a second set of hearts out of the same paper I used under the white cardstock.  I folded the hearts in the middle and adhered them on top of the burgundy hearts.

I used a combination of pearls and gems to decorate the center of the hearts.

Here is my completed layout with my handsome boys!   Thanks for stopping by!

Your next stop in the hop is the lovely LUCY.
