Blingy Husker N

I live in Nebraska and many people here are die-hard Husker fans.  I am married into this crazy status.  I really only like watching sports when my children are playing.  I don't like or dislike the Huskers - I am neutral!!  Yes that makes me a little weird!!

Most adults who live in Nebraska are experts on the coaching staff!  When our coach got fired before the bowl game, my facebook page blew up with articles and opinions.  I got a lot of other work done that day as I had to walk away from the computer!!

I started this project for my son's teacher as a Christmas gift, but did not know how she felt about the new coach.  I did not send it in her Christmas gift bag just in case.  Now that I know she still loves the Huskers (most people here do) I will send it for teacher appreciation day.  Her classroom is Husker themed!

I took a metal 'N' from Michaels and painted it red and black and sealed it.  I trimmed a piece of clear Rhinestone Sticker Sheet to fit the middle of the letter.  This was a super easy project once I had the idea in my head.  You could take any letter (wood, chipboard or metal) and decorate it with paint or paper and add a little bling!!

You can find some Rhinestone Sticker Sheets HERE and select colors are even on sale!

Today I am showcasing some teacher gifts that I made.  Some of these gifts were made for my friend's to give their kid's teachers.
The first gift is an 8x8 tile with vinyl on it.
I made these books for my friend's twins.  She provided me the photos and I used school themed papers.  I adhered the papers to chipboard and used my Bind-it-All to bind the books.   HERE is a tutorial about making mini books with the Bind-it-All.
I had the twins write their names for me and I put the photo on my Silhouette program and traced it.  I cut it out in vinyl and added it to the inside cover. HERE is a how I got the name in vinyl.
I printed this saying on laminated burlap and framed it.  You can find a tutorial HERE
My son's teacher is a runner.  I got her a very nice water bottle from Under Armour.  I put a K on one side....
and Runalicious on the other.  Red is her favorite color!
For the Husker fan, I decorated a wine glass and a water bottle.

Which gift do you like best?

Up next is JENNY

Here is our complete line up in case you get lost along the way:
Be Sure to Come back tomorrow to see what the rest of Santa's Elves created for Day 2!!!

Cheers!

Hello and Happy Labor Day!!

Today I am featured at my good friend Sheila's BLOG!

I made this set of wine glasses to donate to a very worthy cause.  I met a wonderful lady who organized a Women's Night at her children's elementary school where I was a vendor selling wine glasses last year.  Her friend recently was diagnosed with ALS.  They are having a Spaghetti Feed/Silent Auction on September 28th at the Fire Union Hall on 60th and Grover (Omaha) to help raise money for medical expenses.

For more information or to help, go HERE.

When I sell wine glasses, I do not use licensed images.  I made the exception since I am donating these glasses.   I used my cameo and vinyl to cut out Huskers.

I added some bling to the base of my glasses.  I used red, black and clear gems and clear tiny beads.
I put Beacon 527 on half of the base and put my bigger gems down first.
I filled in with the smaller gems using a pair of tweezers to help.  I then put adhesive on the other side of the base and repeated.
I put the small beads into a paper bowl and used my hand to press them into the empty spaces.

I let the glasses sit for 24 hours and then shook off the excess beads.
I recommend hand washing only!!
As a crafter, I love making things for other people whether I sell them or give them away.  I was very honored to be able to donate these!

The ice bucket challenge has been going around and I was challenged by 2 people.  My son Tanner was also challenged by 2 people.  My helper Kylie was challenged by one of our daycare moms (same lady who challenged me too)!
We did our challenge together after school with the daycare cheering us on!!!
