Shot Book

I recently turned 21.

Well, 21 times 2 plus 3!!

My friend Kylie has a friend who is turning 21 in August and asked for my help making her Shot Book.  Silly me, I thought she meant an immunization book or even a photo shot book at first.

When she told me about all the shots and activities they had planned and wanted scrapbook pages made - I was like YES that sounds like fun!!!  Then I felt a little tipsy just thinking about all that alcohol!!

I designed and cut out the paper and vinyl, but Kylie put everything on paper (including the gems and stickles) except for the vinyl on the cover.  I have Kylie's permission to put the pages we designed and made on my blog.

I used my Gypsy, Cricut and my Cameo!

The fireball is from the Silhouette store and is a baseball with flames.  We deleted the "laces" layer.

The font is Hannah Montana for all pages unless noted.

The hand came from A Child's Year.  I did a search on Pinterest for Spanking looking for an image of a hand to trace.....found a lot of interesting images but none were appropriate!!!

Scooby Snack was fun!  The bone is from  A Child's Year and the peace signs are from Disney/Pixar Cars.  Loved the bright colors - our inspiration was the Mystery Machine!

Kylie put individual gems on the letters!!

The lips are from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.  There is a giant set of lips under the photos.  Kylie pop-dotted the smaller lips around the page.

This page was challenging.  This is the page where she will take a picture with the bouncer and her ID.  We searched for a body-builder image to represent the bouncer with no luck.

We created a Security shirt instead - totally Kylie's idea.  We used Impact font (with the Cameo) and the shirt from the Silhouette store.  The drivers license is from Locker Talk.

The bomb came from Indie Art (the third time I have ever used this cartridge).

The beer mug is from the Silhouette Store.  I embossed the foam!!  The font is Blackletter.

I welded a border with a camera image from Makin' the Grade.  The cursive font is from Quarter Note.

This font is Liquidism from dafont.com and cut with my cameo.  The shot glass was purchased from the Silhouette Store.

I used vinyl to decorate the cover of the album.  The font I used is from Art Philosophy.

On each page
The F: stands for FROM
The T: stand for TIME
and the X: is for Dana's signature

Kylie created half of the album.  Dana's sister made the other 10 pages.  I am happy to hear Dana's mom will be the designated driver!!  I sure hope it is a birthday to remember!!!

My sister-in-law is turning 40 next month....I told her I would make her a Shot Book.  She politely declined, especially after I suggested 40 shots for 40 years.  Clearly I am not a drinker!!!!

Teresa's First Blogaversary Blog Hop

Welcome to Teresa's First Blogaversary Blog Hop!

If you are looking for the All About Penguins Hop, please go HERE.

A little over a year ago, Teresa began her new blog to celebrate the fact that she wanted a change in her life.  And for that change to be permanent came lots of prayer and leaning on God to give the right answers.  The answers He needed to give, not the answers Teresa desired.  Well, here she is 1 year later and Teresa is a stay at home wife loving life and doing all she needs to do to create a warm, loving atmosphere for her family!

Teresa invited us to celebrate with her.  Here is a list of blogs in this hop.  If you found me first, please hop on over to Teresa so you don't miss anything!!

Here is a complete list of blogs in today's hop:

We are so glad you are here celebrating and hopping with us today.  Teresa asked us all to create something that represents a change in our life.  A big change happening in our family this year is our son Tyler will be graduating from high school and heading off to college.  Unlike his brother who went to college 45 minutes away, Tyler is likely going 3 1/2 hours away.  I am not looking forward to that part, but I am excited for the next chapter in his life to begin.

I have been scouring Pinterest for ideas for Graduation Party Decorations and I combined two subway art projects into one.
I started out with my Gypsy and several fonts to create this project.  On Layer 2, I put a rectangle sized to 8 1/2 x 11 so I knew how big to size the letters.

I used:
Base Camp (Graduation sized to 1.35 inches)
Opposites Attract (Turn the Tassel sized to 1.24 inches)
Making the Grade (diploma sized to .92 inches)
Nate's ABCs (Success sized to .88 inches)
George (Cap and Gown sized to 1 inch)
Sophisticated (new chapter sized to 1 inch)
Varsity Letter (You Did It sized to 1.08 inches)
Gypsy Font (Class of sized to .88 inches)
Hannah Montana (2013 sized to 1.94 inches)
Nate's ABCs (Hats off sized to .88 inches - rotated 90 degrees)

I put blue vinyl on my mat and changed my settings on the cricut to 3-3-3 (speed, pressure and blade depth) for a kiss cut.

I have a flat canvas sized 9 x 12.  It is hard to see, but the vinyl is cut.  Now to get it onto the canvas.

First, I use my cricut dental tool to weed off the extra vinyl.
Once I pulled off the extra vinyl, I went back to pull out the inside cuts.

I used transfer tape to pull the vinyl off of the paper backing.  I used my cricut scraper tool to burnish (rub) my vinyl.

Oops - I was burnishing a little too hard and broke my cricut scraper tool!!  **Note - I have used the heck out of this tool for the past 6 years!!  Good thing I have a Pampered Chef scraper!!

I carefully pulled up the transfer tape.

I placed the transfer tape to my canvas and burnished the vinyl onto the canvas.

I carefully peeled the transfer tape off the canvas.

I had extra white space at the top, so I went back to the Gypsy....

I used the graduation cap from Martha Stewart Seasonal Art Cake cartridge and sized 7 of them to .80 inches.

This time I carefully pulled up the vinyl off the transfer tape so I could place the exactly where I wanted them.

I put a few caps on some of my letters.

Here is my canvas all ready to go for Graduation (sniff, sniff)!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!  Your next stop in the hop is the Amazing ANITA.

Teacher's Journal

I made this journal for Tanner's First Grade Teacher.  I started this tradition last year when he was in Kindergarten.
I bought several journals at Target last year to make for teachers and friends.  I covered this journal with "I heart School" paper.  I used my ATG gun to adhere the paper to the journal.

I used some Smash tape along the binding of the journal.

I grabbed my Gypsy and used these images from Makin' the Grade.  The school house and grade is sized to 5.48 wide x 2.88 tall.  I put the layers in different quarters of my mat.

Also from Makin' the Grade, I added the Apple Font with "1" sized to 1.55 inches. I copied and pasted two more apples, but used Hide Contour to hide the "1".  This gave me a solid shadow and a leaf layer.

I added "st" sized to .57 inches.

I cut out the pieces using scraps of cardstock.

I layered the School House/Grade pieces together.  Next, I layered the apple pieces together after cutting off the leaves from the red and black layers.  I adhered the "st" next to the "1" on the apple.
I added a little bit of school bus paper below my 1st Grade sign.  I wrapped some twine (red, blue and green) around the cover of the Journal and tied it into a bow.

I hope Tanner's teacher likes it!!  What special thing do you make or do for your child's teacher?

Getting Goofy at Disney LO

Here is my layout for the Disney Link Up Party!  You can enter your Disney Layouts HERE if you want to share yours!

We have been to Disney several times since Tanner was 2.  Our boys are now 21, 16 and almost 6.  After the older two grew out of Disney I was super sad.  Then our surprise arrived and my first thought was "We get to go back to Disney!!!!"

Every time I scrapbook a Disney Vacation, I try to do something different.  This time Tanner and Kramer kept taking funny face photos and I thought what better way to remember our trip?!?
I used Makin' the Grade for the word "getting"  and the "@" and Disney Mickey and Friends for the rest.

I want to add that my project from the Disney Hop Day 1 was:
Sometimes when I find inspiration, I save the page to my favorites.  Sometimes I just sketch it down a day or two later.  Sometimes I remember right away where I saw it, but this time I did not.  I am so glad that Amy shared her link with me!   HERE is where I got my inspiration from.  I used her idea and put my own spin on it.  Thanks Amy for the inspiration (and a great layout idea)!!

Watch Out Kindergarten.....

Welcome to Back To School Week at SweetSassyDiva!  This is Lori from ScrappinMyStressAway with my project.  My son Tanner starts kindergarten next month and I sure hope they are ready for him!!!

I have a hard time creating a layout before I have the photos!!  I tried to keep it simple so the pictures can shine.

I laid out my two page idea on a 12 x 24 mat on my Gypsy screen.
I put this apple from Makin' the Grade on my mat at 6.03 w x 6.97h.  I copied the apple and flipped it.  Then I copied both apples onto another layer.  I went back to the first layer and hid the outer cut so just the inside of the apple cut out.  These will be cut out in cream paper.

On the next Layer, I hid the inner cut.  These will be cut out in red cardstock.

I copied the red apples to the next Layer and moved them so they hung off the mat.  I only needed the leaf and this way did not waste much paper.

Here are my apples!

I used the back side of this K&Co. 4th of July paper for the inside cut of my apple.

I moved the apple pieces to the center of my mat so I would not get the background images from the top and bottom of the paper.

I used Birthday Bash for the font.  Kindergarten is sized at 1.07 inches, Tanner is sized at 1.46 inches, the rest of the words are sized at .69 inches.  I usually use the enlarge and shrink buttons to determine how big my letters are in relation to the 12x12 page.

The banner pieces are also from Birthday Bash sized at 2.08 inches.

I cut out my title and banner from Christmas papers (Old Fashoined Christmas pad from Recollections) to match my color palate of maroon, hunter green and cream.

I am using the negative piece to line up my title.  I ran the letters through my Xyron sticker maker.
I stick the letters in their place and gently pull away the negative piece.
I overlapped the apple with two 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 photo mats. I used a little twine and some buttons to embellish the page.
I inked the inner apple piece with red ink.  I also used this border strip from K&Co.  It is actually a yard stick, but it was close enough to a ruler for me!!
On this page, I used a 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 mat for a photo, lots of journaling space on the apple and a cute banner with buttons on it.
I think I am going to add 1st D A Y to the banner flags.....
I used twine here as well.
And here is my layout all together.  I know I am ready for the first day of kindergarten, I hope the teacher is!!
