Disney Blog Hop

Welcome to the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!

Disney and crafting are a magical combination, and we are so happy you joined us to day for this blog hop.  Some of the crafters participating in this event have been doing this together since 2011!  Over the years the hop has grown but one thing has always stayed the same . . . amazing crafting projects that feature your favorite characters from Disney and Pixar movies.

For 2016 we are going to attempt to have a hop every other month for the entire year . . . February, April, June, August, October and December.  If you are on Facebook you can like the group page so that you can be the first to learn about each upcoming event.  Just click HERE to go the the Facebook page.

To make sure you don't miss any of the fun, be sure to start at Shawn's blog to see all of the projects.  Just click HERE to head over to her blog and then follow the hop line up at the bottom of the post to see everyone's projects.

I just returned from a trip to Walt Disney World January 7th and want to go back already!!!  I got to see my friend Melissa Allore who was an original participant in this blog hop!

Before we left for Disney World, I wanted to decorate my Magic Band.  I grabbed the band from the last trip and practiced on that one first.

I took a fine tip paint pen and traced the Mickey head.  It was a little plain but better than blank.  I colored it in white (not pictured) but the paint did not cover well.  I was afraid it would rub off.  So back to Pinterest I went.

I found this Mickey headband image and traced it with my Silhouette Program and cut it out in black 651 vinyl.  I added my initial in a fun font.  Not every L looks good so I had to find one that I liked and fit the space well.

Tanner wanted his done too.

After 11 days at WDW, my Magic Band looked the same.  Tanner's T peeled off around day 9 - it lasted longer than I thought it would!!

My next project was inspired by a shirt that popped up on Shawn's newsfeed.  I traced the hand and used a font from my computer to create this shirt out of HTV (heat transfer vinyl) and my heat press!  My husband can wear it on our next trip!!!

Here are some of our favorite pictures from this trip.  I kind of miss waiting in line to meet the Characters.  Tanner is 10 now and prefers riding the rides.  The only characters we saw were the Star Wars Characters and the ones at our two character breakfasts.

Before you go, make sure to enter to win our prize for this hop . . . a Disney paper pack from Queen & Co.

The paper stack will not even be shipping out to stores until late February 2016, so you can have it before the stores are even selling it!  Note: Due to the fact that we received this paper stack so early, it is considered a promotional proof and there could be some slight variations from what will be shipped to stores.

Welcome Garden Flag

Hello and Happy June!!! Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway!!

I am so excited to be able to have a booth this Saturday in a local Artist in the Garden Show!  As a baseball mom, I don't have a lot of free time on a Saturday - but this weekend is not a tournament weekend for us and we have an evening game!

I recently started playing with burlap and my heat press and made a couple of garden flags.  This flag was designed for my neighbor.

I use my Silhouette Cameo, heat transfer vinyl and a heat press to make these.

Here are a couple more:

Thank you Sheila for letting me share my projects today on your blog!!!

For my local peeps - hope to see you Saturday!!

Personalized Mother's Day Tea Towels

Hello and Happy May!  I am happy to be a Designer at She's A Sassy Lady today!

May is my favorite month!!  It is the beginning of baseball, my birthday and Mother's Day.  Today I have a fun Mother's Day project today.

Most of you know that I have an in-home daycare.  I have the same kids for 5 years, so I try to do something different for Mother's Day every year.  This year I bought a Heat Press and decided to make some very special personalized tea towels.
I had each of my children 2 and up color a picture with a marker.  I scanned the picture on my printer and put it on a Silhouette virtual mat.
I traced the image and then made a mirror copy of it.  The heat transfer vinyl carrier sheet stays in one piece so the vinyl goes on your mat shiny side (carrier) down.
I sized the images to be around 5 inches wide and put them on my mat.

I cut them out of black Heat Transfer Vinyl.  I use the setting for smooth heat transfer vinyl and added a double cut.
I used my poker tool to weed the extra vinyl pieces out.
I pulled off the rest of the extra vinyl.
I pressed the tea towels for 3 seconds and then I folded the towel and pressed again for 3 seconds.

I placed the vinyl design on the center panel and pressed for 15 seconds.  I flipped the towel over and pressed an additional 15 seconds.
The towel is ready!!!

Thank you Sheila for having me over today!!  Happy Mother's Day to all of my mother, step-mother and like a mother friends!!!

Baseball Sign

I made this sign for my friend and fellow baseball mom Lindsay.  Our boys play on the same team and we spend a lot of time together!!!  Our husbands are both on the board of our organization - so this sign can hang almost year round!!!

New in the Nest Onesie

My friend Robin has a darling store in downtown Springfield, Nebraska and I have sold several crafty items there the past two years.  I have been having fun making Onesie Shirts and posting them on Facebook - Robin requested a "nest" shirt for the store.

She has a darling little section for baby and asked me if I wanted to add some shirts to it!!!  I was so excited!  Here is the shirt I made.

You can see more of my Onesie designs HERE in my Facebook group.
