Champs Layout (Let's Scrap)

Today begins a brand new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap!  My son's team recently got their first 1st Place finish this season - at our tournament on Father's Day!  It was amazing!!  We had one 3rd place finish and two 2nd place finishes (lost by one point and lost by two points in the championship games).

This sketch was perfect for the photos I had!  I used patterned paper instead of flowers.
I used my cameo and Freshman font to create the journal tags.  The third tag, Champs, was adhered to the team photo holding up the trophy.  I have been waiting to use this trophy paper!!!
Instead of a banner flag, I used my Cameo to print out this crossed bat and ball image.  I fussy cut it and adhered it to the top of this photo of him.  We play for the Storm Chasers - our sponsor is the Omaha Storm Chasers - the KC Royals minor league team.  I found this paper at my local scrapbook store!
So proud of this team!  I was so happy for the dads that the team won for them on Father's Day!!

Lucky Layout (Let's Scrap)

Today begins a new challenge at Let's Scrap!  I made this layout for my dear friend to give her Aunt La La for her birthday - which is also St. Patrick's Day!
I will use this sketch again!  I just love the stars and can totally substitute any shape or embellishment!  You can do one side or both.
I used Glossy Accents and twine to make my vine around the shamrocks.
I layered two busy patterned papers and I think the green shamrocks break up the pattern.
I printed Lucky and Aunt La La using my Silhouette Cameo and Desire (paid font).
My friend and her aunt just loved this keepsake!  The family all made a scrapbook page or two of their best memories and they presented the album to her for her birthday!

Join us at Let's Scrap with your version of the sketch!!

Easter Egg Hunt Layout

Today begins a new challenge at Let's Scrap!!!

I love the sketch and thought of Easter right away!!

I love this picture of my three boys Easter morning!  I included some pictures of our Easter Egg Hunt too.
I love the versatility of our sketches!  You can use one page or both in any fashion!  I used an easter bucket instead of the large circle and tree.
I found this Easter arrow in the Silhouette store - arrows are so popular right now.  I also used a bucket instead of a basket because my boys are holding their buckets.

I normally don't mix papers, but went outside of my box with this layout!
I love the eggs!
I journaled on the Egg Hunt banner flag.
Easter is one of the few layouts I can use flowers on!!!  I hope you join us at Let's Scrap to get your pages scrapped!!!

3rd Place Layout (Let's Scrap Sketches)

Happy May Day!!!!  I love the month of May!!  I get to celebrate my birthday and Mother's Day AND it is baseball season!!!  Today starts another wonderful sketch challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches and I hope you join us!!!

My layout today has the highlights from Tanner's Battle of the Border photos from a tournament in April this year.  The top 4 teams from state in Nebraska play the top 4 teams from state in Iowa.  We took 3rd place.  We went 3-1 and had the same record as the #2 team, but that was the team who beat us.  I was very proud of our boys!  We only had a few games before we had to face the toughest Iowa teams!
Here is our sketch.  You can use one side or both.  You can make a card, layout or off the wall project.  I let my busy paper be the background and added a title and journal box.
Those that know me well, know I love handwriting on scrapbook pages!  Your children always know your handwriting!!
I used my Cameo to cut my title.
The right page shows the team with their plaque.  On the far right is my son kissing his plaque - what a clown!!!

2nd Grade LO

Today starts a new challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches!!  I took Tanner's composite class photo from last year and finally got it scrapped!!

I used elements from both pages to make my one page layout.
I love using sketches as a guideline to creating my pages!
I made a banner out of wood pieces and twine.   I also used the letters T M A (Tanner's initials) instead of the ribbons.  He has been asking to write cursive since kindergarten!!!
I added a little heart because he loved his teacher so much!!!
I love how this tuned out!  It is hard to match the flag background in the photo!

I hope you join us at Let's Scrap Sketches to get/stay caught up on your scrapbooks!!!

Spring Pictures LO

Today begins a brand new challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches.  I found this gorgeous Quick Quotes paper in my stash and it looked so nice with my son's spring photos - so I had to put these together!!!
This sketch can be used as a 2-page layout, or you can use one of the pages to make a single layout.  If you are a card maker, you can use the design to inspire a card.  I did not have a large photo, so I created a collage of three photos instead.
I added some wood bugs in place of the flowers - as a mom of all boys I don't use many flowers!!!
I printed the title from my Silhouette Studio using a font that I purchased (Desire).  I cut scrapbook paper down to 8 1/2 x 11 and ran it through my printer.
We have traditional fall photos every year and do a spring photo session as a school fundraiser.  The backgrounds are outdoorsy and fun.

I hope you join us at Let's Scrap with your project!!!  You may just win the prize!!!

This is our Happy Place (Disney Layout)

Today begins a brand new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches.  I immediately thought about using a giant Mickey Head on this sketch!!!
Here is our sketch.  You can configure this into a one page sketch or card as well.  I chose a two-page sketch.  I cut the Mickey Head, Key to the Castle and Disney friends using my Silhouette Cameo.
I used my Cameo to print off my title onto white cardstock.  Disney truly is our happy place!!
I added Mickey and Friends to the bottom corner.  I hand wrote the date on the flag and added a Mickey head crystal.
I added this adorable key to the castle image to the banner flags.
I added some of my favorite photos from our trip last November!!

I hope you consider joining us with your own version of this sketch!!!

Chef Mickey Layout

Today begins a brand new Design Team Term at Let's Scrap Sketches!  I am excited to say I made the team again!!!

The best part about this Design Team is getting my photos scrapped!!!  I have created at least 2 layouts a month (some one pagers but most two pagers) and have kept on top of Tanner's scrapbook!  I love the sketches - you can take elements from them to create your layout, card, canvas or whatever you like.  You can flip, twist, turn it on its side, substitute other elements - whatever inspires you!!!

Our new challenge schedule is twice a month - the 1st and 15th of each month!  As usual, we have great prizes!!  Consider joining us and welcoming the new and returning DT Members!!
Here is the sketch.  I used most of the elements in the sketch this time.
I cut my title using my Silhouette Cameo.  I printed "today is magical" using my Silhouette Cameo.
When I cut a title, I save the negative piece (the paper you throw away) and use it as a template to get my letters on the page straight.
I trimmed the saying and double matted it.  I added a little red Mickey Head from my Disney stash.
I added a banner with some ribbon and washi tape along the bottom of  my "big" photo.
I am almost done with the Disney layouts - I just have a couple more to do!!!

Thanks for joining me today - I hope I inspired you to scrap your memories!!

3rd Grade Layout

Today marks the end of our DT Term at Let's Scrap.  Luckily I made the next term!

I have been at Let's Scrap for 5 terms and I have gotten a lot of Tanner's pictures scrapped!!  I love the sketches here - and if you are not much of a sketch follower, no worries you can use the sketches as a guideline!  You can make one side of a 2 page layout!  You can flip it, reverse it, take a few elements - just use it somehow!!
Here is our sketch for this week.  If you don't have a large photo, use some fancy paper.  If you don't have a ton of photos - no worries, you can use squares of different papers, a banner instead of squares across the top or bottom, flowers or gears - use your imagination!!!  Check out what our DT did HERE.
I used the class photo for my large photo and needed a large title.  I also did not have more photos for a pocket or little album, so I modified a Project Life card instead.  I used images from the Silhouette store for these.
I used the term Best Friends because this year Tanner has really made some good friends and has gone on more play dates and sleepovers than last year.  He is very social and even does his hair!!!  Several girls swoon over him at school (I am told by his teacher)!  Not sure I am ready for that!!
I love the giant 3rd grade!  I added a little Washi tape border to bring some black into the background,
I added smaller pictures on the layout - some are him and his friends, some are from school parties and the music program, the others are for rides he rode for the first time at Disney in November (Rockin' Rollercoaster and 7 Dwarf Mines).  So far, 3rd grade has been a great year for him!!
