Pick A Seat Not A Side

I covered an old 24 x 24 ceiling tile with burlap.  I created this file on my Silhouette Cameo after seeing one on Pinterest.  I used fonts and the heart swirl from my computer.

I cut the file out in vinyl and used it as a stencil on the burlap.  I used black acrylic paint and a foam brush.  I can add a wedding date below the hearts if desired.

This is a fun wedding sign that I added to my friend Robin's store!

Wedding Heart Wood Sign

Today I am a Guest Designer at my dear friend Sheila's BLOG.  I have a wedding or anniversary project to share with you today.  I found these heart shaped wood signs in the dollar section of Target for $3.  They are well made and I wish they had more than 2 left when I found them!!
I beat them up with a hammer a bit and stained them with a Natural wood stain.  After the second coat of stain dried, I inked the edges and divots to give it a little dimension.
I cut out these two stencils out of Oramask (stencil vinyl) to use as a stencil.  This vinyl does not stick very well to wood, so I had to be very careful and paint slowly (which is very hard for me)!
I painted two coats and touched up the paint after I removed the stencil.
I added the twine back on and they are done!!

Thanks for joining us today!!!

Wedding Decor (Blog Hop)

Happy Saturday
and
Welcome to this month's blog hop

The Creating Blog Hops Café

This month's theme is... Wedding or Anniversary. We have made some wonderful projects to share with you and to give some inspiration for those upcoming summer weddings.

Our Hostess for this hop is...

Our wonderful Sponsor for this month's hop is...

Alicia is giving one lucky person a wonderful
wedding themed page kit from Mambi.

So, sit back and grab yourself a Latte' as we dare to amaze you with our projects.

My friend's son is getting married next weekend and I was honored to make a banner and some gift bags for her:

I cut out 6" triangles from burlap.  I created letter stencils using my cameo:
I cut the stencils out of vinyl and stuck the pieces to the burlap.
I painted the letters on with black paint.  When the paint was dry, I removed the vinyl.

I used mod podge to stick the burlap pieces to brown kraft paper to give it a nice backing.  I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes and twine to string the banner together.

She wanted some gift bags for the men who stood up with her son.
She found this saying on Pinterest.  I made this on my cameo with fonts from my computer.  I sent it to my printer and trimmed the paper to fit the bag.
The rehearsal dinner is at a baseball themed bar as they are huge baseball fans.  They wanted simple bags for the guests to take home the leftover popcorn bar, Big League Chew, Cracker Jacks and sunflower seeds.  As a baseball mom, I frantically took notes!!!

I made a simple circle monogram and cut it out of crimson vinyl for the bags.

I also made food labels for her for the shower and rehearsal dinner but forgot to photograph them.  I was happy to make these for her - she was my middle son's 5th grade teacher!!!

Wedding Tile Gift

A good friend of mine got married last night and I made her a tile as a wedding gift.  I had no idea the gift would be part of the ceremony!!

I used a split letter from the Silhouette Online Store and added Karyn and Doug and the date.  I cut it in black vinyl and put it on a marble tile.  I bought a stand from Hobby Lobby that would hold the heavy tile.
I did not wrap it as I was afraid the box would be deceiving and the gift may get dropped.  Karyn's step mom grabbed it out of my hands and placed it by the unity candle for the ceremony.
It looked so pretty up there!!!  Karyn knew right away who made it for her as she has seen me make these for others!!
Karyn is a dear friend - we have been through a lot together and I am so happy for her.  Her new husband is a gem!!!

Karyn was my daycare helper for several years and my friend Renee (on the left) has a set of twins that Miss Karyn and Miss Lori spent a lot of time with the past 5 years!!

And Karyn lived Happily Ever After!!!

Wedding Mini Ablum (Frosted Designs)

Today my Wedding Mini Album is featured at Frosted Designs for our Chipboard Challenge.  My friend requested a Wedding Mini album as a gift.  She did not know the colors, so I made the book in black and white.  I can easily add colored flowers to match!

Our Sponsor is Moments of Tranquility.

I use 5x7 pieces of chipboard as the pages of my album.  I covered both sides of the chipboard with paper from The Forever and Always DCWV paper stack.

I used my ATG to adhere the paper to the chipboard.

I used various wedding images from the Silhouette Online Store and cut them out on my Cameo.

I cut these out in black carstock.

Here is the cover in the works!

I outlined the photo mats with iron on gems from The Buckle Boutique.  I used liquid glue to adhere them.

I cut out Bride and Groom from the Silhouette Online store (forgot to take a screen shot) and adhered them to scrap of wedding cardstock.

I pop-dotted them at the bottom of the pages so a photo can slip right behind.

I used my Bind-It-All to bind all the pages together - here they are:

The first pages are for the Bride and Groom.  I make my photo mats 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 to leave an 1/8 inch border.

The next page is for the wedding party.

Who doesn't have favorite pictures from the wedding or reception?  Here is a great place to put two of them!!

I added silver stickles to the diamond on the rings.

Here is another place for the bride and groom and some notes.  The bride can also tuck a keepsake or two in the pocket.

I make a pocket for each mini album I make and include some tags or fancy paper.

And of course, my wish for Happy Ever After on the back page!!

I tied some white tulle to the wires for a soft touch.

What do you use chipboard for?  I hope you link up your project with us at Frosted Designs!!!

Wedding Coasters (Memories in Tyme Blog Hop)

Welcome to the Memories in Tyme blog hops - where you will find some seriously talented people who love to share their ideas with you! Our hop today is anything relating to Weddings or Anniversaries - doesn’t matter if it is a layout, card, mini album, or decorating item, if it’s about getting married…it’ll be here!!! June is one of the busiest times to get married - why not get started a bit earlier this year with all the ideas you will find from our blog hop!

Now, if you just happened upon my blog, then please go back to the beginning which is at Lynda’s blog (http://memoriesintyme.blogspot.com/). Besides, the beginning is always the best anyway!!!

Here is a complete line up in case you get lost along the way!

Let’s get started with the ideas:

My cousin is getting married. I was 19 when she was born and she is only a couple of years older than my oldest son. We don't have a ton of things in common, but I am super excited for her!!!

I got my project idea from a local craft store called Mangelsen's. The sample had vinyl instead of paper but I could not find vinyl to match her blue color so I used paper instead.

I started with my Gypsy, Elegant Cake Art and Wedding.

The coaster set is wooden and sized at 4x4.  I sized my pieces to fit within a 4x4 square.

I selected:
 toasting glasses sized to 3.31
double hearts (with the date to fit across the solid heart) sized to 2.86 and numbers sized to .54
A & C sized to 1.39, 1.00 and 1.51
double rings sized to 3.00

I rotated the date -10.00 in order to size it to fit inside the heart.

I used blue and black card stock.  The wedding invitation is on the bottom right ~ you can see the blue in the flower.

I scrunched all of the pieces I wanted in blue to the top half of the mat.  I scrunched the date and toasting glasses to the bottom left quarter of the mat to cut them out in black.

Here are the cuts once I took off the extra paper.  I was not sure if I wanted the toasting glasses in blue or black so I cut out both!

Here is the coaster set I bought and the wide black ribbon I used.  I got the ribbon at Michaels.

I trimmed the negative piece from the initials to 4x4 and placed it over the tile.  I ran the letters through my Xyron to make them into stickers and placed the letters on the tile using the negative piece as a stencil.

I carefully peeled the template off and my letters are spaced perfectly!

I adhered the tiles to the ribbon using my ATG gun.

This will make a nice keepsake for Amy and Cameron.  If they want to use these as coasters, they can remove the ribbon and seal the coasters with Mod Podge or a spray sealer.

Wedding Partial Shape Card (Gypsy Made Simple)

If you are looking for the All About Dad's Blog Hop, please go HERE.  My blog candy is up for grabs until Monday, June 6th!

Today I made a card for Sassy's Gypsy Made Simple challenge.  Her challenge is to make a Weddng Card that is a Partial Shape Card.

The first thing I did was to create an A2 card template.  This is basically an 11 x 4.25 rectangle.  Save this file, then re-open it as a Template.  Next, I put a 9 x 4.25 rectangle over the template.  I took the Champagne glasses from Wedding Cartridge sized at 4.25 height and welded the shadow to the card so the total width of the card was 11 inches.  I cut out the other two layers at 4.25 height.  I found the sentiment from Holiday Cakes and sized it at 4.31w x 1.71h.

I cut out the pieces, assembled them on the card, scored the fold and had my card!!

This card was very easy and quick to make....it is the first of many partial shape cards I think!!!
