But first, here's a little something from me about Jessica.....

I met Jessica on FaceBook in a blog hop group.  I love how she opens up her craftiness to others!!!  She and I also share a love of the color purple and Disney.  I decided to make my card in purple for her!

So, here is what I created for her:

I love making window card with my Gypsy.  I also love personalizing cards - so it just made sense to create a 34th birthday card for Jessica!!!  Hallmark doesn't make 34th Birthday cards - but I do!!!

I started with this card base from Don Juan and sized it to 4 inches.

The numbers are from Sweet Treats and are sized to 2.29 inches.  Once I got them sized, I copied and pasted another set onto my mat.

I grouped and welded the numbers inside the window opening.

I cut out the card base in white cardstock.

I moved the card to the left so the front half only was on the mat and used the chevron paper from Mambi Cards pack to cut out the front side of the card.

I cut out the numbers and the sentiment in purple cardstock.  I did not use the sentiment.

I adhered the patterned paper to the front of the card and then I adhered the numbers on the card.

I used orange and yellow stickles to create the flames on the candles.  I tied some purple twine on the left side of the card.

Window cards are fun to make and you can weld just about anything inside the window!!

What would you weld inside the window?

Now, its time to go on to Pam's Blog

Here is the lineup in case you get lost along the way!

Thank you all so much for hopping along with us!

Strawberry Ice Cream Cone Card (SweetSassyDiva)

Hi ~ Lori here from ScrappinMyStressAway and I am excited to be at SweetSassyDiva's today!!

If you are looking for the Frosted Designs Crafty Spaces Blog Hop, go HERE.

I wasn't sure how much crafting I would be doing once I broke my wrist, but as long as I keep it simple and go slow I can still create!!

This week at Sweet Sassy Diva's, our theme is Strawberry Fields.  I am not a strawberry fan, but I do love ice cream!!

I found my ice cream cone on Sweet Treats and sized the layers to 4 inches.

I used cardstock for my layers.  I forgot to hide the drip on the ice cream cone layer (lt. brown), so I opened another Layer and copied a cone on it.  I hid the contour and moved it to the left of the first cone, fed the mat back in and cut it out.

I used my stitching stamps to create the zig zag lines on the cone with Antique Linen ink.

I trimmed off the cone part of the pink layer.  I inked the edges of each layer.

I added some black ink for the seeds and lime green stickles for the top of the strawberry.

I hope you enjoyed my card, but not as much as a "real" ice cream cone!!

Princess Box

I am a Guest Designer today for Sassy and I made this Princess Box from the Sweet Treats cartridge.

I opened a 12 x 24 mat on my Gypsy and grouped the box & crowns and sized them 3" tall. I ungrouped them and moved the crowns under the box on the mat. I changed the size of the mat to 12x12.

I added a second page and copied the crowns onto it. I flipped one crown (side to side) and added the hearts and swooshes sized to 3 inches.

I cut out the box using double sided paper from a Heritage style of paper that I bought a long time ago. One side is black with small grey and white flowers and the other side has words and signatures (from mail) in creme, black and gold.

I used a metalic gold paper to cut out the crowns and the handle. I cut the heart out of hot pink and the swooshes out of black. My pink paper did not stick the first time. I made sure my file was saved THEN I deleted everything from the page except the hearts and re-cut. I did not save these changes.

I scored the box but kept it flat so I could glue on the crowns.

I ran the crowns through the xyron and stuck them on the box.

I used Golden Rod stickles to add details to the crown and outline the heart I used diamond stickles on the swoosh.

I originally planned on using hot pink ribbon for the handle. The ribbon would not stay up and the gold paper looked better, so I switched. To cover up the hole on the side of the box, I put a hot pink gem.

I added part of my hot pink boa inside the box, since that was my inspiration for using pink instead of red.

Many of you know I have all boys (dirty, stinky boys ~ he he) and I don't make many sparkly, feathery projects. This was fun!

Flower Box from Sweet Treats

I am trying to use some of my newer cartridges ~ this box is from Sweet Treats. I sized up the box and flowers on my Gypsy and was able to fit everything on one mat. I used some 2-sided paper left over from my K&Co Valentine's Day paper pack and some brown ribbon and a green button.

I made three pink (2 dark and one light) flowers and crumpled them up. I fastened them to the front of the box with a brad. I covered up the brad with the lime green button.

I am challenging myself to make different projects ~ I tend to stick with layouts!!
