Baseball is Life Layout

Today at Frosted Designs our new challenge is Red, White and/or Blue, Something Old and Something New.

I was thinking 4th of July, but baseball just fit for me right now!  I hoard baseball paper and both of these papers are Old!!!  I rarely use rub ons but still buy them......the Baseball Is Life is a rub on and it is also Old!!  It describes my life at this very moment.  I am typing this as we get ready to leave for State Baseball this morning!

This photo is of my Husband (coach) Middle Son (coach) and Youngest Son (player) after winning our annual tournament on Father's Day.  Proud of all three of these boys!!
I used my New burlap ribbon and metal charm.  The charm says LOVE LIFE and the metal goes with the trophy in the photo!

I hope you join us at Frosted Designs with a fun project of your own!!!

Champs Layout (Let's Scrap)

Today begins a brand new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap!  My son's team recently got their first 1st Place finish this season - at our tournament on Father's Day!  It was amazing!!  We had one 3rd place finish and two 2nd place finishes (lost by one point and lost by two points in the championship games).

This sketch was perfect for the photos I had!  I used patterned paper instead of flowers.
I used my cameo and Freshman font to create the journal tags.  The third tag, Champs, was adhered to the team photo holding up the trophy.  I have been waiting to use this trophy paper!!!
Instead of a banner flag, I used my Cameo to print out this crossed bat and ball image.  I fussy cut it and adhered it to the top of this photo of him.  We play for the Storm Chasers - our sponsor is the Omaha Storm Chasers - the KC Royals minor league team.  I found this paper at my local scrapbook store!
So proud of this team!  I was so happy for the dads that the team won for them on Father's Day!!

Lucky Layout (Let's Scrap)

Today begins a new challenge at Let's Scrap!  I made this layout for my dear friend to give her Aunt La La for her birthday - which is also St. Patrick's Day!
I will use this sketch again!  I just love the stars and can totally substitute any shape or embellishment!  You can do one side or both.
I used Glossy Accents and twine to make my vine around the shamrocks.
I layered two busy patterned papers and I think the green shamrocks break up the pattern.
I printed Lucky and Aunt La La using my Silhouette Cameo and Desire (paid font).
My friend and her aunt just loved this keepsake!  The family all made a scrapbook page or two of their best memories and they presented the album to her for her birthday!

Join us at Let's Scrap with your version of the sketch!!

Pals Layout

This week at Frosted Designs our challenge is to try String Art. Alternatively you can use string or twine in a creative way.

I struggled with this challenge - I won't lie!!!  Most of my photos in my "to be scrapped" pile are of my son Tanner.  It is hard to make boyish embellishments!!!
I took this wood polaroid shape and used DMC floss to cross stitch the bottom.  I then cut out the word Pals from my Silhouette Cameo and wound red thread around the letters.  It looks a bit Halloween-ish but I like how it turned out!
These two boys were together a lot this year so I thought this Together sign was perfect!
Instead of matting my photo, I made a frame around it using DMC floss.  I used Glossy Accents to stick it in place.

I hope you join us at Frosted Designs - I can't wait to see everyone's take on this challenge!!

Easter Egg Hunt Layout

Today begins a new challenge at Let's Scrap!!!

I love the sketch and thought of Easter right away!!

I love this picture of my three boys Easter morning!  I included some pictures of our Easter Egg Hunt too.
I love the versatility of our sketches!  You can use one page or both in any fashion!  I used an easter bucket instead of the large circle and tree.
I found this Easter arrow in the Silhouette store - arrows are so popular right now.  I also used a bucket instead of a basket because my boys are holding their buckets.

I normally don't mix papers, but went outside of my box with this layout!
I love the eggs!
I journaled on the Egg Hunt banner flag.
Easter is one of the few layouts I can use flowers on!!!  I hope you join us at Let's Scrap to get your pages scrapped!!!

Mom Layout

Our challenge at Frosted Designs is all about Mom!!  You can celebrate your mom, you being a mom, your Aunt (or any other mom) or even a person who is not a mom but has awesome mom qualities!!!

My mom died in 1989 when I was 20.  I am currently older than she got to be.  My plan was to have a big birthday party (my birthday is Monday) to celebrate that I "made it" past her oldest age....now that my birthday is near, I am consumed with guilt.  This really surprised me as these powerful emotions have been absent for almost 20 years.

I was avoiding this project and almost did a layout of my boys instead.  But I went looking in the old photo albums and only found a few photos of just me and my mom.  This photo is at my 6th birthday party.  My mom always made our cakes - this year she made me a heart cake!
I added some handwriting and details on my page.  I also used some buttons, lace and pearls.  I don't usually use pink in my layouts, but I just loved the floral print paper.
I tucked these pretty flowers next to the photo.

I used the green paper to mat my photo - it was yellowing around the edges and white or cream washed out the photo.
I inked the pink doilies on my background and added a small strip of pink cardstock at the top.  I used my Cameo to cut my title.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms, Grandmas, Step-Moms, and awesome mother figures!!!!!  Have a wonderful weekend!!!

3rd Place Layout (Let's Scrap Sketches)

Happy May Day!!!!  I love the month of May!!  I get to celebrate my birthday and Mother's Day AND it is baseball season!!!  Today starts another wonderful sketch challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches and I hope you join us!!!

My layout today has the highlights from Tanner's Battle of the Border photos from a tournament in April this year.  The top 4 teams from state in Nebraska play the top 4 teams from state in Iowa.  We took 3rd place.  We went 3-1 and had the same record as the #2 team, but that was the team who beat us.  I was very proud of our boys!  We only had a few games before we had to face the toughest Iowa teams!
Here is our sketch.  You can use one side or both.  You can make a card, layout or off the wall project.  I let my busy paper be the background and added a title and journal box.
Those that know me well, know I love handwriting on scrapbook pages!  Your children always know your handwriting!!
I used my Cameo to cut my title.
The right page shows the team with their plaque.  On the far right is my son kissing his plaque - what a clown!!!

Spring Challenge - Spring Baseball (of course)

Today begins a brand new challenge at Frosted Designs - Spring!  This can be a spring picture, spring in the title or an actual spring in your project!!  Have some fun with it and join us HERE!

Of course being a baseball mom, spring means the beginning of baseball season.  I used some photos of Tanner pitching in our Spring Tournament.  The top 4 teams from Nebraska (as of state last July) played the top 4 teams from Iowa.  We took 3rd place.
I inked the papers with two shades of brown (aka dirt color) and made the frame darker.  I spritzed some gold mist on the background.  I trimmed this Live the Life You Have Imagined and inked it up - I think Tanner is totally doing that right now!!  I even tucked a burlap flower on!
I printed my title out using my Silhouette Studio and kraft cardstock.
I love how this one turned out and will frame it for now!!  I hope you have a wonderful spring!!

Everything used is from Frosted Designs except Tim Holtz Distressed Inks and the kraft cardstock.

2nd Grade LO

Today starts a new challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches!!  I took Tanner's composite class photo from last year and finally got it scrapped!!

I used elements from both pages to make my one page layout.
I love using sketches as a guideline to creating my pages!
I made a banner out of wood pieces and twine.   I also used the letters T M A (Tanner's initials) instead of the ribbons.  He has been asking to write cursive since kindergarten!!!
I added a little heart because he loved his teacher so much!!!
I love how this tuned out!  It is hard to match the flag background in the photo!

I hope you join us at Let's Scrap Sketches to get/stay caught up on your scrapbooks!!!

Tanner Spring Picture LO

Today begins a brand new challenge at Frosted Designs - Splatter!!  I watered down some brown acrylic paint and flicked it off the paint brush onto my paper.  I also took some Dirty Martini Dylusions Ink and poured it in a cup.  I took a paintbrush and flicked it on the paper.
I inked the photo mat and stapled a strip of burlap behind my picture.
This little journal card was perfect for this layout - this is his spring school photo!
I cut my title using my Silhouette Cameo with brown cardstock.

This layout was fun!!  Boys are messy and I see lots of splatters in my house!!!

Spring Pictures LO

Today begins a brand new challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches.  I found this gorgeous Quick Quotes paper in my stash and it looked so nice with my son's spring photos - so I had to put these together!!!
This sketch can be used as a 2-page layout, or you can use one of the pages to make a single layout.  If you are a card maker, you can use the design to inspire a card.  I did not have a large photo, so I created a collage of three photos instead.
I added some wood bugs in place of the flowers - as a mom of all boys I don't use many flowers!!!
I printed the title from my Silhouette Studio using a font that I purchased (Desire).  I cut scrapbook paper down to 8 1/2 x 11 and ran it through my printer.
We have traditional fall photos every year and do a spring photo session as a school fundraiser.  The backgrounds are outdoorsy and fun.

I hope you join us at Let's Scrap with your project!!!  You may just win the prize!!!
