I love Candy Layout

I am finally getting around to scrapbooking last year Halloween photos!!!

Tanner was a Police Officer and his best bud Jadon was Batman.  One of our neighbors dressed up as Cruella DeVille.  My husband dressed up as Santa.  It was a fun night and the longest Tanner trick-or-treated so far!!

I used Hannah Montana for the font and sized the shadow layer to 1.5 inches.  The heart is from George and is also 1.5 inches.

I added the normal font (Hannah Montana at 1.5 inches) on another Layer.  I also added some hearts (from George) at 1.5 inches and 1.35 inches.

Here are the letters and hearts cut out.  I used orange, black and yellow cardstock.

I wanted some candy, and I found these suckers on October 31.  I used Hide Contour to erase the other pieces of candy.  The sucker is sized to 5.46 inches.  It looks super busy on this screen shot.

Once I hit the cut button, this screen looks so much better!

The round pieces of candy are from Simply Charmed and are sized to 3 inches.  The long pieces of candy are from Slumber Party and are sized to 3.92 inches.

I cut out the suckers in white, yellow and purple cardstock.  I trimmed off the stick part of the yellow and purple ones and glued the circle on.  I assembled the candy and then added stickles to the cardstock.

I wrapped celophane around the candy and tied the ends with twine.

It looks like candy!

I also tied celophane on the suckers.

I ended up using the yellow heart on top of the orange one.

Don't these look good enough to eat?

Making these pages is putting me into a Halloween kind of mood!!!  Halloween is my favorite holiday!!!

Now, if you just happened upon my blog, then please go back to the beginning which is at Lynda’s blog (http://memoriesintyme.com/). Besides, the beginning is always the best anyway!!!

Here is a complete list of blogs:

1.  Lynda J - http://memoriesintyme.com

Let’s get started with the ideas:

I found my inspiration on Pinterest:

Here is a link to Brittany's blog post.

I started with my Gypsy.

I took this tie from Simply Charmed and sized it to 2.13 width x 6.00 height.

I unlocked the chain between the words Width and Height on my basic menu.  It is yellow when locked and white when unlocked.

In order to get two of each tie plus the top half at an angle, I arranged the ties two sets on each side.

Here are the ties cut out.

The second set I did with double sided paper.

I rearranged the ties on my mat and cut out this blue patterned paper....

and this green paper.

I opened another layer and used letters from Birthday Bash at 1.35 inches to put on the ties.

For the card, I used #1 dad sized to .88 inches.  You can see how I determined the size to fit the tie on my mat.

So my grand plan was to create a shadow for the letters.  Somehow I did not use the shadow feature, so I skipped the layer!!

This is what the tie looks like with the top at a 40% angle.

I also cut a shadow tie shape.  There is no shadow feature on Simply Charmed, so I had to create my own.  I sized the tie to 2.51 width x 6.59 height and cut them out of brown cardstock.

It is not exact but I was very happy with it!

Next I copied two ties onto a new layer.  I flipped one and welded it to the top of the second one.

Hint:  I flipped and welded BEFORE I rotated them.  The ends of the tie hung off the mat, but it was much easier to line up and weld properly!!

I cut out the tie card in the same brown cardstock as the shadow layer.

I scored and folded the card and adhered the tie on top.  I inked the ties with Vintage Photo ink.

I pop-dotted the letters on each tie and used twine to string the pieces together.

I had a lot of fun creating this banner and card!

For my project today, I made 2 different banners.

The first one is made out of bugs.

I used this bug shape from Simply Charmed sized at 5 inches for my banner.  I needed 7 bugs total so I put 4 on Layer 1.  I cut this page out twice in black cardstock.

On Layer 2, I put the layer sized at 5 inches.  I cut out the top four bug layers out of red Valentine's Day paper and the bottom three out of green paper.

On Layer 3, I put seven hearts from the bug layer (at 5 inches) on the top and cut them out of black patterned paper.  I put the letters LOVE BUG from Art Philosophy sized to 1 inch and cut them out of gold cardstock.

I assembled and adhered the layers.  To jazz up my bugs, I used gold, red and black Stickles.

I punched holes with my Crop-A-Dile and strung gold glittery ribbon through the bugs.

Here is my Love Bug Banner all put together.

I wanted to send an extra banner and also try out a different style.

I used scalloped hearts for my banner flags.

I found this doily heart from Sweethearts and sized them to 4.41 inches.  I cut them out of red cardstock.

I found the frog, cat and dog from Sweethearts.  I cut them (and the layers) out at 2.61 inches.  I cut out the Love (also from Sweethearts) at 1.82 inches.

Again I added Stickles to my banner pieces.

I tied the hearts together with some twine.

I tied a long loop of  twine to each end for easy hanging.

Thank  you so much for stopping by our hop today!
