Animal Kingdom LO

Today begins a brand new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap Sketches.

I am using some fun photos of Tanner taken at the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World.  One of his favorite colors to wear is orange - the brighter the better.  I don't have any orange mist, so I cut some gears instead!!
Here is our sketch.  I used three regular sized photos instead of six smaller photos.
I cut some gears and arrows from images I purchased on the Silhouette online store.  The title is cut from Devinne Swash font.
I tucked a little bright blue under this arrow.  I love how creative the Disney Photographers are - some day I want to be a photographer at Disney!!
I created a journal tag and added a little gear!
I adhered the title at an angle over my photo.
Thanks to Let's Scrap Sketches - I am almost finished with my Disney pages!!!

Zooin' ~ Frosted Designs One Word Challenge

This week's Fabulous Friday Challenge is to use ONE WORD in your project title.

I made up my own word for Tanner's Zoo field trip page.

I used these animals from Zoo Day (shadow feature) along the bottom of my Gypsy Screen.

I used my Amy Chomas pen holder and ball point pen to draw the animals on my brown cardstock.

Here is the border drawn on.

I used this fun giraffe textured paper to enhance the top of my tag.  I ran it through my Xyron.

I stuck the giraffe paper on the top of my tag.

I trimmed the top of the tag and now I have a Giraffe Tag!

I wrapped some of the giraffe paper around the pocket and tied it with some vine.

I used the font from Zoo Day to weld and create my title.  After I welded the title, I sized it to 5 inches wide to fit the space on my layout.

I cut out my title with school paper cardstock.

I put the smaller photo on the tag.  I journaled on the back of the tag and put it back in the pocket.

I added some flags and a bit of twine to the side of the pocket.

I cut out another layer of Zooin' in brown to put behind the title.  I made a little banner with scraps of paper and Smash tape.

I added a crocodile from Animal Kingdom sized to 1 inch.

The kids got to touch a stuffed crocodile - it was really cool!

Thanks for stopping by!!

3 + 1 Gypsy Challenge (My Pets)

This week's Gypsy challenge is 3 + 1 = SUCCESS. You use at least 3 shapes and at least 1 weld in a project. I am working on my album from my childhood and I thought this would work well for my pets.

I submitted Fraidy LO as my first project. I used Opposites Attract and the cat from Designers Calendar for the title which is my welded piece. The cat is the letter "I". I used A Child's Year for the other cat images. I included the cat and bird because the birds tormented poor Fraidy. I added all of the stories I could remember about him.

I also submitted this page about Mittens. I had fun with this LO. I found paper that matches the horrid wallpaper in our main bathroom and had to include it!! I created my own Mittens by cutting out the cats in black and white and trimming the black parts away to show the mittens and white face. I added crystals for the eyes.

I finished my pet theme with the rest of my childhood pets. This cat Sammy was my favorite. We had him the shortest time, but he was the snuggliest. I wanted the photos to show the story here. I included the title from OA and some images from ACY. I used the crystal on the title for the i ~ I lost the original dot. I do this a lot with lower case i's so I have learned to get creative!

Misty was the cat we got shortly after Sammy died. She was a farm cat and really didn't like being indoors. I had the most photos of Misty, so I kept the pages simple.

Hugo was our one and only dog. We had him before we added any of the cats ~ that is me he is laying on in the photo. I welded the dogs from Animal Kingdoom to the title. I also cut out a dog head from AK. I wanted to separate the photos because the copy of the photo at the lake had rounded corners, so I needed to fill up the page. I added some ribbon collars as well as a ribbon border. I gave the smaller dogs stickle eyes and the larger dog gems.
